Wire Plus question

I have the opportunity to purchase a wire plus kit and was wondering the pros and cons of this product. I here some people saying it's garbage others not. Can some fellow mebers who installed the wire plus kit chime in and let me know if they are happy with it. Should I go another route? I have no issues with my 2002 Pitbull except for an occasional floating speedometer.

Installled mine a year and a half ago and no more problems. I was ready to ship it before that. Best thing I ever did for it.

I agree. If its running fine then leave it alone. The speedo thing may be a whole different issue. As for the wire plus....mine has been trouble free. Alot will depend on the installer. There are alot of wires to deal with. And you have to crimp the ends properly or you will have issues. There are a few other options that others here have tried. I'm sure someone will chime in. And last of all if the price for this wire plus is a steal you may want to get it so when the time does come you'll be that much more ahead of the game.

The WP381, for 03 and older, is plug and play except for the ignition switch.

If the price is right, buy it an throw it on the shelf for a later date. I installed a WP on my 04 with minimal issues. Bike is running fine. Good product.

All the ones I have seen come into my shop have all failed around the 15 month mark. They are only covered with a 12 month warranty:bang:
So, I would recommend the Thunderheart Micro harness controller. Retails for only $310. And with yours being an older model with the normal switches (not PCB type) it's very easy to install. They give a full 3 yr warranty and in a lot of cases beyond that. Very good company to work with, and always answer the phone. Can't say that for WP.

Had wp for four years switch module went up last summer, left me stranded had to drive back and trailer. Trouble shooting and a new one I paid for fixed it. I am still hesitant about longer trips but will try 1000 miles to sturgis 2014 for the 74th. Haven't been a few years. Still love my bike. Had bigger problems with ehc. Traded big shit problems for little shit problems. Wtf
