Wire Plus module question

Energy One

I've got an '03 Mastiff and just installed a wire plus module. Got no brake lights but everything else works. Is it possible to jumper/ground one of the pin connectors and test the module for proper brake light function? Tail light, brake lights, and blinkers are integrated on this bike. Thanks for the help

Good place to start is by rechecking each and every connection you made. Also double check ALL the grounds. Thats where I discovered my problem. Oh....and welcome to the pound.

Thanks man. Yeah, I thought of that too but the larger problem is someone made a couple of wiring alterations before I got the bike and changed the module. Without a schematic, I'm wiring in the dark.

I believe the '04 and later Big Dogs wire different than the '03s. The 15 pin connector on my bike had at least 4 wires clipped, stripped, and f'ed and if I can't test the brake lights at the module, then I'm gonna need a schematic. Thanks again

I'll look when I get home today. I did my wife's '03 Mastiff. 3 plug and play modules and solder about 8 wires going to the dash. I think I still have the instructions somewhere.

Thanks for the offer BadBrad, but I think I just found the '03 wiring schematic in a sticky- '03 Thunderheart to BDM conversion (or something like that). I finally pulled my head out and started reading more of the 2003 stuff on the forum. I did get the install instructions with the wp380 module kit from WirePlus, but no wiring diagram. WP provides diagrams for the '04 and later stuff- just not the '03. Thanks to all for the help- It's a great website.

Found the problem- both brake switches are fried. The wiring diagram was a big plus so THANKS to whoever posted it. If you are interested, you can jumper the 15 pin connector and activate the brake lights (2 light gauge orange wires) as it simulates the foot brake switch. Man, Big Dog dropped the ball when wiring the rear lights- a breaker in the circuit would save a lot of money. Time to donate money to the internet.
