Wire Plus installed

I got my Wire Plus kit from Jake and had a little trouble at first, I was installing a Digital Guard Dawg with the Wire Plus module and they wouldn't work together. I even went so far as to ship all of my modules to Rick and Don at Wire Plus so they could bench test them. Yeah that took a couple of weeks :bang:

Long story short.... Jake, Rick, and Bruce at Digital Guard Dawg came through for me STRONG:2thumbs: ! Bruce is going to be working out the problems of the DGD with Rick, so probably a month from now if you're thinking about doing this easy modification you can get an awsome security system too.

Here's my Wire Plus install

A very professional job of wiring but I can't help but wonder why you would do the Wire Plus mod to a brand new (still under warranty?) bike?

And if you want to get rid of that nasty EHC that's probably just cluttering up a drawer in your toolbox, PM me. Couldn't hurt to have a spare... :D

I picked up some Mini fuse holders for the Mini ATC fuses at Radio Shack myself. They have a LED on them that lights up when the fuse blows so that you don't have to open them all up and check the fuses.

Kinda cool.

Good looking install you did!!!

Thanks everyone !! Thanks to you Jake, for all the help too (nice kitchen).

I have the Wire Plus kit because I had the usual problems with my HID light kit, then when I tried to wire up the Digital Guard Dawg security system, the Big Dog didn't like that at all and kept shuttin off.

I'm a happy camper now, and soon I'll have keyless security

PM sent

It looks like from my research that the Digital Guard Dog module that should be used with the Wire-Plus setup is the DGD-M1.

That would just get hooked in-line on the starter wire.

Jake, I've been trying to get the Digital Guard Dawg KIM unit (keyless) to work with my bike and the Wire Plus. The KIM is still in development as DGD and WP will HAVE to "talk" to each other to figure out each other's systems, etc.

I was the guinnea pig for this, for a while anyway. I got tired of being the middle-man, I even went so far as to send all my modules to WP to make sure everything was working. I got tired of cutting, testing, splicing, and removing my wiring (5 months, back and forth).

I sent the DGD KIM unit back (got a refund), and put in the WP key.

I'm very satisfied with the WP and the customer support, I just wish I had the keyless security.

As stated above, the KIM unit is made for the stock BDM switch operation through the EHC with the run/stop button. That button operation, and all the voltage changes with the Wire-Plus install so that KIM unit won't work. You need the Harley/Universal Digital Gaurd Dog unit, DGD-M1 from my research. It works only off the starter solonoid wire and looks like it would work great.

Never heard of a WP-375. The Big Dog 2004-09 is a WP-374.
This module is for the touch pad style hand controls only and the EHC driven bikes that started in 2004.

I carry these and have them in stock. As for the 2003 Big Dogs, they have standard Harley style hand controls. They are high current controls so non of that stuff actually is processor controlled. All you need is Wire-Plus' simple chassis module for Harley style custom bikes that controls the turn signals and takes care of teh ignition switching.

Hope that helps
