I was looking online and found these installation instructions for Wire Plus conversion kit for my 2004 Mastiff. For those that have completed this conversion, do these appear to be accurate instructions???

Please let me know, and if there are any "hidden" quirks I should know about before starting this conversion.!!! I am ready..!!!!

Thanks Chris...I was hoping you would chime in with some sound advice. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on this conversion, after I read through all these details. And I am NOT going to rush through this guys..!! Over the years, when it comes to expensive items, I have learned patience IS the only way.!! And have access to a wealth of knowledge..as provided here on this forum. I doubt I would even try this conversion without all you guys on the forum.!!!! And Chris...I might be calling you once I get started.!! Wish me luck..!!!

I just did it myself

Old Hippy, Try to clean all you can of that silicone from the plug where you will be cutting the wires. It will make it much easier to "make sure you are cutting the correct wire, especially the red ones towards the last of it. Take your time , don't rush it, and get the Deutsch crimpers. Crimp them twice and you will not have any issues with them pulling apart.(D-sub CONTACT CRIMPER 20-12 AWG FOR DEUTSCH CONNECTOR) and do not over tighten the set screws on the ignition switch!

The ebay store I got the crimpers from:
email : vince@performanceplusconnection.com

Also definitely get the color coded diagram. Jake sent me the 06-07, so ask him.

Another thing I did to help ID wires especially on the A plug is after removing the cover of the plug, with dikes, I cut the plastic piece off of the back of the plug that surrounds the wires. That will make it easier to see the wires in the silicone and if you need to trim the silicone will make it much easier. I know yours is 04 and may be different, but mine was full of silicone and hell to ID the wires.

Seeing and cutting the correct wire was the biggest problem for me. Wiring diagram good info. I used jewlers glasses to see those tiny #'s

Just a thought for those of us that had trouble seeing the Super tiny numbers on that plug. I wish I had thought of this earlier,.If a person before they cut the very first wire, got some strips of tape that you could write on and actually be able to see it. Then cut enough strips of tape to label each wire as you cut them labeled #1 - #last one.You can get little pieces of tape already numbered I think. Start at #1 label, it number 1 and then proceed until all wires were cut and labeled correctly. Then go to Jakes instructions and wire it up. I realize that this would take a bit more time, but if I had it to over you can bet your last money I would have definitely done it. Those little numbers were a struggle for old eyes to see, especially when my wife would not let me bring it in the house.
