One of the old ones.
Here in Bentonville (NW AR) we expect -7 Saturday night and lots of snow (a foot or more) thru the weekend, followed by a week or so of below freezing temps. Unusual for here to say the least. All battened down and not expecting to leave the house fr a couple of days. Barring a power failure, we’re OK. They really don’t have the plows and equipment to get at it—wifey read a statement that they plan to wait until the snow is all done before beginning plow the residential areas. Not quite how they did it when I lived in Chicago!!

Here in Upstate SC, they are calling for up to 3 inches of sleet and then freezing rain with accumulations of up to 1.5 inches. Which will cause tire limbs to break off, trees to fall over and kill power to most of the Interstate 85 corridor from Atlanta to Charlotte. I just happen to be 2 miles from the interstate, yay.... roads will not be drivable and if we lose power to the area as predicted no power for at least 4 days. But on a brighter note, it could miss us. lol But think I'm pretty ready for the storm. Hope the rest of yall stay safe and check on one another.

I messed up and let my backhoe run out of fuel. Spent 2 days trying to get it started with no luck. so my old 1949 tractor is going to have to do. I live on a dead end road, so the county won't grade mine. So with each 2'' of snow that comes down, I have to go move it, because that little tractor doesn't have enough butt to move more than that. And ICE, I'm SOL. When I pull out of my garage, it's all down hill. On ice, it's not uncommon for me to slide clear across the road and into my neighbors yard. The worse is yet to come. When this all melts, it all turns to mud.

Diesel backhoe I am guessing? Did you try gas on a rag in the breather when cranking? That almost always works.

I know others are going through a lot more than me. Hope and pray all are ok.
Still 4* here. A little bit of wind, so the snow is drifting, but it looks like about 8" so far. My little tractor has moved about all the snow it can. I have no other place to put it. Sure wish I could have gotten the backhoe running.
Just came in from doing the road, got undressed and look, the road is covered again.
