Will someone explain Wires Plus to me?

I have an 08 Ridgeback and have not had any issues with my EHC. I know there any many others that likewise have had no issue. I wouldn't worry about it. You'll know if you start have electrical issues. Unitl then, my opinion is that you don't fix a bike that runs perfectly good. If you start having problems, there is plenty of good info here and WP will be available if needed, along with a BDPP solution.

:iagree: 06 K9 here also original EHC and no probs.

Be nervous! Be very, very nervous! J/k apart from multiple batteries and starters my ehc is fine. Knock knock. I started keeping a spare battery in my buddies Road King saddle bags. Along with my beer, my chaps, some tools and my clear glasses. Like he always said "I'm your mule". Seriously, be nervous.

2008 Ridgeback. I went with the wire plus. I went through 5 ehc on my 06 and 2 on my 08.

The wire plus gets rid of the ehc. Good ole fuses now.

someone correct me if im wrong but it getts rid of your brain box "EHC" and what you install is a soild state system with switches and relays, its WAY more reilable. the problem is you never know when your EHC will go, its your decision if ya just want to replace it or take the "chance" and not??? Me....I changed it as soon as I had the extra chash!!

cross that bridge when you get there. i think most of the electrical problems stem from the older model bikes.................pre- 2008 or so. i dont know if there was ever a survey on here that addresses the issue. it would be interesting to see a breakdown of year and model that has the issues.

Best move you can ever make with a big dog is get rid of the intire wiring harness and put harley wiring harness in that is color coded and all easy to work on. I got a 2003 Big Dog Chopper and that EHC Module sucks it blows all the time on those big dogs and each time is $300.00 screw that. I changed my intire harness and electrical system on my bike to Harley Wiring. Thats my advise

I have 2006 K9, original EHC. I would not fix if it's not broken.

have a 2004 Mastiff and 2008 K-9 with original EHC.
if the electrical system acts up I will change to wire plus, but as long as the puppies run well with the EHC I see no reason to change.

I have a 08 K9 with over 35K and know problems.

I don't think you have to go overboard and replace everything. Just fix what is broken.

For example, if you have a weak battery, get a new one. If you have a bad ground connection, clean it up. If you have a grounded turn signal, fix it. I would find it very difficult to hand over $300 every time there is an electrical issue.:loony:

But, then again, replacing everything will get rid of the problem. Hopefully, the installer does a good job.
