Will Gas Tanks match up on different models?

I have a 05 Mastiff. I love the bike, but I am not happy with the way the gas tank looks compared to the 06 Mastiff with a single gas tank. It just looks cleaner and flows with the bike better. I hate the double gas tank mainly for the plastic piece that holds the speedometer. Can you switch tanks? If so where can I get a 06 Tank?

You get the tanks from any dealer through the factory. It won't fit your bike though. Different frame with the added stretch. You could use it but you would have to cut off your current tank mounts and change them over to the new style "cam" type mount.

Anything can be done just depends on how much you want to change.

Ya I have thought the same thing .My bike has a 06 mastiff frame and I like the mastiff tank much better than mine . I have been thinking about changing mine over . Got a couple of drawings from BDM on the 2 tanks . Just havent had time to really check it out .

I had a 05 Bulldog tank put on my 05 Ridgeback, there was a fair amount of fab work involved.

Thanks guys, gave the bike a whole new look. I saw a Bulldog at the dealership, and said that is the tank I want on my Ridgeback. Plus I wanted a pop up cap located so as not to interfere with the paint scheme.
