I can make them one at a time manually but good god it takes a long time. My second effort was a form tool, expensive in its own right, but I didn't give enough thought to the rigidity and squareness of my lathe so I trashed the first $400 set of cutters.
I have some much valued experience now and am making changes to my lathe before I attempt it again.
No one learns from what they do right, most learn from their mistakes like me!

Kaptin - You ever have any luck making the slam buttons? Going to ask Santa for one this year!

I recommend a 1 inch extension on the slam button for RSD transmissions ... as you can see it's pretty deep in there and this picture is without the pulley cover and exhaust pipes..

Bill with your set up you need something all together different if you ever hope to use that thing without burning yourself.......
How much clearance do you have on that back pipe from your cover?

It's a straight shot to the button .... it would be nice if it was a little longer ...when I get home today I will get a picture and send it to ya ...

I see what you mean. I can make up a new button for you but you will need to send me the slam button so I can get the dimensions. I sent you your old cover so you should be able to slap it on briefly while I knock this out for you.
You want the button shaped better so it is easier to push on? Like a little larger diameter and concave a little so your thumb fits it better?

Cool I will.. diameter is okay but I like the concave idea

Yes it is way up in there. Yours looks perfect. Where did you find it? Was it something you modified?

Slam button that I got is a Spyke ..... It's actually a pretty decent unit got it on eBay $66
Thanks. Same one I have been looking at for awhile.
So did you extend the button to make it easier to reach....or it already is longer than others?
Guess I just need to get me one then see about how to modify.
Thanks again!
