Widen your own swingarm?

Has anyone (successfully) widened their stock swingarm to accept a larger tire?
Doesn't have to necessarily have been on a bigdog.

I think it'd be cool to have an 03 chopper with a 330 rear

I've built quite a number of swing arms over my lifetime. IMO, it would be better, to start from scratch, rather than 'trying to cob a stock one. Most of the race arms, I've built held air, in the front part, for a race style air shifter. I think, that by now, you can figure, my favorite paint is "orange pearl".

There would be a assload of work involved. I think you would have problems with the drive side specifically. But I am sure someone could git ‘er done for the right $$$$.

Would probably be cheaper and easier to buy a rolling ridgeback frame with the 330 rear and build it.

I have been eyeing a rolling frame, as I want basicly very similar to my 04 chopper.

Just want a 33 rear softail frame, with a +12 springer front... then wire it, and put my own drive line in it and paint.
