It's great that KMW is bringing back Bigdog MC to some degree. I was sorry to see that the primary to be used is one that looks like a Harley and in my opinion makes the new K9 look old. I for one was attracted to the unique Baker Drivetrain primary style design. Although the Baker Drivetrain has its faults, I liked the signature style design over the old look HD. It would be great to see a non-Harley contemporary style primary on the on the NEW Bigdog motorcycles.

I don't believe the "proprietary parts" were their downfall. I think their business practices, ie...acquiring too much debt, not predicting markets, recession, quality etc were their biggest issues.

I agree that reliability is a major concern considering the past history. I'm just saying that given the design choice of a primary cover style that is the same on ALL levels to one that looks like the HD cover, I would choose the BDM style.

I don't know that much about the difference in performance or reliability on one or the other I do think the bdm design looked good and as some said the other looked old style ,but im pretty happy with the one they choose to use I kinda like the fat big powerful look it has to it.and I think with the 300 rear tire it kinda makes the whole bottom of the bike look fat and well proportioned one sorta just goes with the other . now would you guys want a big breasted woman with a skinny little bottom, not me big breast gotta have some butt to go with it .just happy to see the dogs gona roam the streets again ,every body have a good day.

Lol. Funny analogy. I see the tire as the booty. This in the mid section, and I like skinny waste.

It's really only a matter of time before the attitude changes for collectors and riders alike to know the rarity of the brand we hold so dear... What we all possess is a piece of motorcycle history like some of the other automotive gems that were weird or awful when they were produced, but now have seen staggering returns in the collection market... I'm sure we can name a laundry list... Edsel.. Delorian... and even the VW Thing for crying out loud. ..
