WHY??

I've read quite a few posting on the horn blowing when the battery gets low. My question is why? If the battery is low it's not going to start anyway. Don't need a horn going off so everyone can look at you. And it sounds like the horn will blow when the battery isn't the problem. Can you dissconnect it without affecting the EHC? Just curious.

Yes, the horn should be replaced with an idiot light instead. This way you have a code popping as if the battery IS low. It goes something like this. I have a 'threshold' and when it is met I blow the horn. If I have met another [planned by the builder] of the circuit board, that I can take a voltage number, send it to the 'threshold,' so this collapses and blows the horn-fandango, turns my idiot light on-fandango.

That's how you can play with battery voltage level to; I can ring your bell with a volt; because I am electrically handcuffed to a 'discharge;' to a 'threshold;' to a 'trigger' blowing horn. Make sense we diagnose the computer bike in this fashion?

Think toilet bowl tank:
1. Trigger is the tank's lever handle.
2. Discharge is the emptying of the tank.
3. Threshold is the water keeps coming into the tank but there it is stop by a threshold.
a. I flush the gray matter is the trigger.
b. the discharge is the volt sent in size so 1.2 gal right? 1.2v right?
c. we start all over is the crank comes around making volt and the float is the volt/reg controlling volts to gallons.
d. think out the ass so you come up with toilet to volts to flush to trigger to threshold to blow it out your ass goes the horn.

So if you go thru all that will the horn blow when the horn button is pressed or will the idiot light flash?

I think it is just the way the Bike is yelling at you (throwing a tentrum) in front of everyone so to embarrass you for not buying her a new batt earlier...

Sorry... and no I have not been drinking, I am in a dry area :D

Well I got lost on the toilet thing ....but still see no reason for the horn to go off. I agree about being embarrassed. See no reason for that to. Had this happen to me....rode to work. Went to leave to go home..( it was 10pm) kind of cool out. Turn key...nothing but the horn blaring. Can't really check any wires and such with the thing roaring in my ear. After a few turns of the key everything worked. Started it up and off I went. I'll tell you one thing with that horn blasting I did try real quick to check the connections on top of the EHC. That horn was vibrating the EHC quite a bit. I'm sure that isn't good for it. For the time being I dissconnected the horn so when this happens again I'll be able to look into it without waking up the neighborhood.

OK a recap of my problem. I did disconnect the horn and sure enough when I left work it was a tad chilly and turn on the key and nothing. No headlight no speedometer light. So I pushed it inside the building and put and light near the EHC and after 45 minutes it was fine. I asked 07k9skull what he did. He also had the same problem. He insulated around the EHC but it only helped him for a year or so. So I put some insulation around mine and now the weather has warmed up and it starts fine. I'm sure this could be the begining of the end. Went out on Sunday for a spell and had no issues. So I guess I'll have to wait and see if this get worse or what.
