Big Dog will be back!

I just got back. Got there around 10:45 AM and left around 12:30 PM. Meet up with John from BD and Duane from Cycle City Tenn. We talked for about an hour about all sort of things. Got a lot of in site to what is happening out in the land of BD. As far as the truck goes they sold the older truck and kept the 93 which was at the open house with the old trailer. Also Daune was there with his rig from Tenn. As you can see in the second picture it says Cycle City Tenn and New York.
Big Dog the manufacturing company no longer is in business. Big Dog Performance parts is rolling along selling parts and keeping in contact with the old suppliers. I asked about the website and he said they were working on it.
At this time there are 220 new unsold bikes in the US and 80 over seas. Until they are sold and the economy starts to pick up they are not going to make any new bikes. They as well as everyone else is waiting until after the election before making any major decisions. The way it looks now that will be in 2013. They are not going anywhere and they will be back. You ask how are they going to do that. Sheldon has all of the equipment needed to start up again. When they shut down they kept everything they would need and cleaned house of all of the extra stuff.
We talked about how would they go about selling new bikes without a warranty. They said that most dealers were self insuring. They made a comment that out of all of the bikes sold the average total claims per bike was around $270. That is less then 1% of the sale price. They said they could offer an after marked warranty for I thought they said $300.
Cycle City NY is in a really nice spot not far from OCC in a nice new building with great people working there. Everyone was friendly, the food was great and the truck with new bikes in front looked like a demo day from years ago.
I am not one for pictures but I took these three.

Thanks for the info! This is great news! With 300 unsold bikes its easy to understand, why start cranking out new ones when no one will buy the old ones?

Wish he said something a little more regarding the websites and parts, other than "we are working on it"

2012 phenomenon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2012 phenomenon comprises a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic or transformative events will occur on December 21, 2012.[1][2][3][4] This date is regarded as the end-date of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar. Various astronomical alignments and numerological formulae related to this date have been proposed.

A New Age interpretation of this transition postulates that this date marks the start of time in which Earth and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation, and that 2012 may mark the beginning of a new era.[5] Others suggest that the 2012 date marks the end of the world or a similar catastrophe. Scenarios suggested for the end of the world include the arrival of the next solar maximum, or Earth's collision with a black hole or a passing asteroid or planet called "Nibiru".

Scholars from various disciplines have dismissed the idea of such cataclysmic events occurring in 2012. Professional Mayanist scholars state that predictions of impending doom are not found in any of the extant classic Maya accounts, and that the idea that the Long Count calendar "ends" in 2012 misrepresents Maya history and culture.[6][3][7] Astronomers and other scientists have rejected the proposed events as pseudoscience, stating that they are contradicted by simple astronomical observations.[8]

I was at one point intrigued by the Mayan's insight into future events until it occurred to me that if they were credible how come they didn't forsee their own demise??
