I know that Duane from Cycle City TN assisted the owner of Cycle City NY get the store set up and off the ground. He told me the owner bought up all the remaining bikes from Big Dog. I believe it was 30-40 bikes. If you check out their website, you will see that they have 25 new Big Dogs listed for sale. I too am surprised that the BDM truck will be there but considering that Cycle City NY just gave them a big shot of cash and is the biggest thing that has happened for the Big Dog name since going out of business, I can see the reasoning. Hope it all turns around for BDM and we do see production in the spring. BTW, I heard that "rumor" also. Wish I could make the trip for the grand opening but I can't.

From what I understand is Coleman had several opportunities to sell BDM, but the biggest obstacle was the bank debt, which went away when he filed for bankruptsy. I have heard he still has all the tooling and robotic welding needed be able to produce new bikes. It doesn't make any sense to produce any new bikes in this economy. Bdm performance is the best way to keep the brand alive without investing a lot of money until the market turns around

TRUE COLORS COLLISION
I was the very first person on facebook to put this together by asking them why in praytell would the BDM truck be there if the company is out of buisness???Yet there was no reply,I was ignored,as most of us have been through this entire situation...None wants to give up any information whatsoever....
We are the ones looking for some answers ...yet all we get from them is a haphazzard website selling just a little of this and a little of that...and some freaking t-shirts........I am speaking of the very poorly managed,as well as 1/2 finished website for BDM Performance Parts..........
If they truelly were promoting the website and it parts buisness, why wouldnt they say that when asked about the truck being at the event????
Its to the point if I want anything for my bike I call Amy @ Strokers...cause I can depend and trust her...She has developed a relationship with us as a whole...whereupon the Company (BDM) has done nothing but loose my trust, and underdeveloped everything they seemed to have built with a buisness relationship with most of its consumers........
I'd like to say really nice things about the company as a whole, but at this time I will plead the 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

It's a weird thing Jimmy and why company's do the things they do we as a whole will never know. Why the website has not received 100% of BD's time and energy is beyond me. It's almost as if they just don't care.

I'm positive that the majority of BD upper management know about Big Dog Biker and how a large percentage of us love these bikes regardless of some of the issues people have had. Yet they keep us in the dark and there's business decisions that BD is just not willing to share. Timing is everything and maybe someday we'll know why....

When I pick my bike up last week , Kelly the
Manager of the big dog dilership in Utah told
Me they were going to start building in 2012 .
Starting with a few bikes like the k9 and mastiff.
I hope so, I need to get the wife one.

Maybe they are trying to keep the brand out there for a possible return, not sure-just found the whole truck thing interesting. Then upon future research, saw that it was a new dealer, though part of the long established Cycle City out of TN which was the biggest dealer out there (hell even the NY and TN webiste are the same and both done by Kingspoort Web out of TN).

The Kingsport TN dealer would have one of the best lines on possible returns since he sold so many, had a great reputation and had been around for years.

That said, no replies from BDM on the Facebook to the question asked by Jimmi, myself and others. Strange to make a post and then not reply. Oh well!

All said we will see. If anyone makes it to the opening in NY, keep us posted and if the truck does show up, post a pic (interesting to see if it one of gthe old trucks, or maybe as someone else said, a broken down old Ford Econline Van).

I did not see anything on Cycle City's website about the BD Truck being there. They are having an open house though, weather permitting I'm going for a ride down there on Sunday....
Get a picture of the truck!!! Or Mini Van?

OK, I just call Cycle City and spoke to Frank. Yes it's true the BD truck will be up there to do a promotional open house. He also told me that in the Spring of 2012 that BD was gonna start producing bikes again. I ask what bikes were they gonna use for the open house and he stated that he has some left overs and BD was dropping some off but he did not know which ones. I found this to be really strange but it could be the beginning of something. I also asked about parts and he said that the truck was there only for bikes. This place is outside of the city so I don't think it will get that much publicity. BB1 I think you might be n the right track about Coleman thinking about a come back.

So, who has the scoop on the truck and all?:whoop:

Ditto! It's 2 PM on the East Coast. Somebody's gotta post of picture of the BDM VW Bug by now!

And hopefully let us know that all our prayers are answered and they are going to continue to make parts :2thumbs:. Even more lucky push out a few bikes here & there. Maybe made-to-order?

Hopefully it's not BDM just blowing smoke up everyone's ass cause this dealership just dropped $350 to $400k in Sheldon's lap. Unloading them with whatever was sitting around at the shop leftover.

I know what you mean. I keep the bike in a shed by the rear of the house and my lawn is flooded between there and the driveway. I am going even if I have to take the truck. It is only 60 miles for me so I will see what I can find out.
