Why is the BDM Show Truck going to Cycle City in New York?

Ok, unless my Facebook is all screwed up (possible with all the recent changes that FB has implemented), why in the world does Big Dog Motorcycle have on their Facebook page, to come see the Big Dog Motorcycle Show Truck at Cycle City New York-this weekend.

If thepost is right, question is what are they showing and why is it the Big Dog Motorcycle SAhow Truck when Big Dog Motorcycle is no more.

Then they go onto to say that they will be at Biketofest this year and hope to be at Daytona next year.

WTF is this all about, a show truck for Big Dog Motorcycle when they are not making any and went under as the Motocycle and now is Performance parts and from the looks of it, that is very low key.

Anyone have any idea?

Not to be a smart azz but why not ask them on facebook....Is it possible they are advertising BDPP?

I did as well as other posters and no replies addressing why yet. Maybe they have not got around to reply yet, just seems strange to have the Big Dog Motorcycle show truck apperance posted when the do not do Motorcycle anymore.

Maybe it is for the Big Dog Performance segment, and that is okay. Just strange IMHO to even do that since they are still struggling getting that segement going right and hell maybe they should work on their web site more and make it easier for us owners to find what we need and be able to get the shopping cart to function properly. Woulde be great also if they had more of the stuff that is listed, actually available and not shown as back-ordered so much and maybe some pictures and break downs.

Do not know the facts, and maybe they will post up to me and others and answer why, but if it is for BDP stuff, I would suggest they spend the time and money (driving and set up of a show truck can not be cheap) and concentrate more on getting their Big Dog Performance Parts web site more user friendly as well as getting more parts to support the approx 29,000 owners out their.

Just my $0.02

Maybe instead of my $0.02 I should say my $700 worth as I get ready to install my PDM today while I have my fingers crossed that the Horn Works and does not cause engine to shut off or other stuff that has occured on others that installed.

Oh it would also have been nice if they could have maybe used some of the money to send a truck around (if that is indeed the case) to figure out how to have the PDM do full function of the original EHC such as signal canceling and emergecny flasher!!!!

I thought they sold the show truck on e-bay a few months ago:confused:
I know they had one on eBay a little while ago, but they had two trucks at one time. Could be just a Facebook mess up, but the response show in the last day or so.

I would agreee with ya fiber does seem strange they are going to be driving the truck around.
I also agree that the BDPP website definitely needs work. If you think about it for the time it's been open the improvements should be alot farther ahead .. I also realize that there is a limited amount of resources to work on the website albiet it should be top priority. Maybe Sheldon is driving the truck..

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the post is good. 4 days ago they posted a sale on the 2-1 Big Radius pipes which is legit on the BDM Performance Products website.

Wild guess they are trying to get there name back out there in the performance product category, make sure that people don't think they just disappeared. No bigger scene to get national attention than NYC.

From Facebook
Big Dog Motorcycles We will not be at Biketoberfest this year. We hope to return to Daytona in the spring.

Dumb question.....but......

Who owns the Truck? Coleman?? If he does than it would be just a rich guys way of advertising (for possible future ventures?!).

If he sold the rights to BDM then whoever bought those rights can do whatever they want, I suppose.

I have no idea either way but wanted to throw out some speculation.

I think maybe Coleman has aspirations on bringing back BDM when things turn around.

OK, I just call Cycle City and spoke to Frank. Yes it's true the BD truck will be up there to do a promotional open house. He also told me that in the Spring of 2012 that BD was gonna start producing bikes again. I ask what bikes were they gonna use for the open house and he stated that he has some left overs and BD was dropping some off but he did not know which ones. I found this to be really strange but it could be the beginning of something. I also asked about parts and he said that the truck was there only for bikes. This place is outside of the city so I don't think it will get that much publicity. BB1 I think you might be n the right track about Coleman thinking about a come back.

Sounds like it could be good news. It would be great to see BD make a come back. It doesn't change the fact that we all got screwed out of our warranty and any claims we had in.

:eek:I hope Coleman makes a comeback. I think the dude (because a female wouldn't do this) is F'cking around on Facebook rather than working on the BD Performance website.:roll::roll:Just my opinion:cheers:
