Why cant anyone CNC some Fender Struts?

With all of the people looking for fender struts to accept sissy bars.
Is there any members that have the ability and tools to cnc some fender struts to sell? I would think someone could make a few bucks and sell quite a few sets.
Or, someone had to be supplying Big Dog. Does anyone have a line on who machined the struts for Big Dog?


Would be nice to get an aftermarket source that could sell them for a reasonable price.

I've seen where some guys have fabbed up ways to mount a sissy bar but nothing beats the struts made for this. I waiting a long time and found my struts on ebay, then had to still pay around $350, but it also included the 18" bar. Couldn't be happier, but like yourself, couldn't see paying what everyone was charging for new struts/bar.

I also bought a set off ebay. I just wondered with all of the smart and talented people on this site. Surely someone has a job or access to a CNC machine.

Could be a lucrative side business. I cant believe that someone doesnt know were the originals were milled. I highly doubt it was in house at Big Dog.

the out-source company is a known, but the problem is that BDM holds the design copyright for them and the patent, so they cannot duplicate them or sell them straight to the public.
and, more than likely, BDM owes the company some money due to the economy downturn and it is not a high priority to put working capitol out for accessory parts.
so we're screwed either way.

I think their called Imperial Machine or something like that. They make all the BD proprietary crap. Their like right across the street from the factory from what I understand.
