Why cancel the softail Chopper?

OK - Big Dog Newb here.

I was looking hard at a Big Dog Chopper in 2004. Ended up spending the cash on something else at the time. I'm back looking at bikes again and found that the softail chopper has been totally cancelled and the only options in a chopper style are rigid frames, What gives?

Last time I looked, I thought I wanted the "chopper" for the softail over the K-9 or Ridgeback (cannot recall which was available at the time).

School me... Please.

Yup K-9 is soft tail and they are just releasing a budget chopper softail also!

YUP, go K-9, its a little longer and a 300 tire :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Back in 2004, I thought the difference between the Chopper and the K-9 was that the chopper was Softail with a 250 rear tire and the K-9 was Rigid with a 300.

Obviously I was wrong, (and I am glad).

BDM is offering an affordable chopper again for this year. Saw it in Sturgis. Has Harley controls and better wiring. No more EHC.

Correct, 06 was the first yr for the K-9
