Who comments on your bike the most?

I took the bike out today for the first time in over a month. Felt great to have my face in the wind again!

One thing I've noticed since I got the bike, people(mostly men who don't ride) assume that chicks just salivate over it and that it gets me laid almost daily. My experience is that women for the most part barely notice it, but young boys most certainly do, as well as a few old folks who look at me like I'm one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

So I'm wondering what demographic comments on your bike the most?

EDIT: I went a grand total of about ten miles today, and got thumbs up and "burnout" signals from young boys, all of whom weren't even old enough to drive. :lol:

Well, down here in SW Florida, the youngs kids like the crotch rockets. They look at the Big Dog and respect it, but their interest is in speed and being obnoxious. But we do have our share of choppers and custom bikes here.

The other day my guest here was riding my Softail and I was on my Chopper and we stopped by a drug store. When we came out there was these two older men (maybe in their 70's) googling over the bikes. They asked if they were ours. They were waiting while their wives were inside. They were hoping we'd come out an leave, so they could hear them start up.

We talked with them for a few minutes and then we left. I think we made their day. It's fun to please to old folks. :up:

same here Reaper! I took the bike out for a quick ride today....40 degrees...went to the gas station to top it off....had a older guy give me thumbs up.....then at the light....couple of cuties waved

damn only went about 5 miles.....was nice...bike pulls great!!:up:

Yeah I get alot of older guys asking me about it and telling me about them back in the day. Out of respect I aways let them tell me about their hay days. Those old timers always have good info and stories. I have learned alot from them by simply listening to what they tell ya.

Well I get all kinds of looks but the best ones are from the old riders (like Gas and other have indicated). Some of those old timers can come up with some great stories of back in the day and occasionaly you come across one or two that were the orginal type of bad boys.

Met an old timer down around Roanoke a few years ago on a smoke-gas stop from a long trip. This old respectable man about upper 60's early 70's range, come over and start talking. The more we talked I found out he was one of the Original Boozefighters and rode up until about 10 years ago when he had some major health problems. We got talking about Sturgis and a few other ralleys and the stories he told of some runs back in the late 50's early 60's were something else. Then he begun to show me some old style ink including the BF bottle symbol and old Korea Navy Days one from Philipeans, Japan and shit. Something else and though most were worn out and faded, there was still allot of history and thus my respect to him and a few other that I have the pleasure of meeting, all due to them checking out my bike.

Those are the best ones for me.

Yeah most of the time I have found that the few mins I spend is not time lost. Plus you can see them reliving the story as they tell it. brings a smile to them... you can see... and that's the cool stuff if you ask me.

for me it is quite the conversation piece,its just as good as takin my grand daughter to the park with the minivan moms,puts me right there in the thick of things and its on,but i find every race,creed ,sex and age will have no problem comin up to me and askin questions or just shootin the sheeeeet,i get very very annoyed when i have THE GUY that first words outta his mouth is 'how much did it cost""" that annoys me to no end if you gotta ask you dont need to know,plus very unmannerly,i got ONE OF THEM GUYS that lives up the street..everytime he sees me get something done around the house or talks to me about bike or hot rod or latest greatest grand daughter toy outta his mouth comes HOW MUCH......i have let him know very sarcastically how much this annoys me yet he continues to ask,i let it go cause he is a few marbles short upstairs...next time he does it i think i am gonna ask him if him and his wife still has sex and if so how often,and what would be her favorite position....and of course we will have to know........does she swallow!!!!!!!!!!!

The bad thing is that the sutpid bastard would probably tell you. More than likely one of the braggers types that is why he is always asking how much! Unfortunately I have a few friends like that also and it does get annoying after awhile. Best to just let it roll off or like I do some times, say not sure the Wife bought it for me!!!

I threw that in there because a girl actually said that to me. Sadly, if I gave her a demonstration she would have bottomed out my rear shocks. I only wrassle in my weight class.

My best hot chick story was the girl who stopped and stared while I was gassing up once. I turned and saw her drooling, and said hi. We talked for a few minutes but I unfortunately found out she was from Sacramento on her way to Salt Lake City, so no digits acquired.

My two favorite comment stories revolve around my BigDog shirts, of which there are about a dozen. The first happened about 6 months after I bought my Dog, standing in line at a Chevron close to my house. The guy in front of me noticed my shirt and said "BigDog, huh?" I said yeah, and he said, "I personally think Jesse James builds a far better bike." Thinking I could have a biker conversation, I asked which WCC model he rode. His reply? "Oh, I don't actually ride." Right-o, spanky. I actually do.:lol:

The second happened at the Reno Hilton(now the Grand Sierra Resort) during Hot August Nights. I was in the men's room washing up, and a guy noticed my shirt and asked "Oh, a biker shirt? What's it cost to be cool, $30?" Normally, like jimizee I don't talk about what my bike cost, but I made an exception with this guy. I said "Actually the shirt was about $30K, but it came with a free motorcycle." The look on his face was priceless.

I tend to get the ppl that "know the guy who built my bike", "know the guy who owned it before me" (I bought new w/35 miles on it, and I put 5 of those on), "my granddad had one just like it in 1954, but yours looks like it has been well taken care of" Gee, thanks..

I made a trip around Mt Rainer once and had stopped at an overlook with a huge cliff when a large group (30 or so)of crotch rockets stopped all around me. At first no one acknowledged me then the girls started commenting on the bike, so a few of the guys felt they had to say something. The first question was "you up here all alone without your gang?" Told em I normally ride alone, a girl said "aint you scared to ride alone?", No but it looks like you all are. Musta broke the ice cause then a bunch of the guys started checking out the bike, asking questions, and proving they were not all a bunch of jackasses and I was not tossed off the 2000' cliff. And most of em even said "when I get old I will be getting one of those". OK, they were all in their early 20's, and I am seasoned. They were amazed I had no cell phone nor riding with anyone. Later in Winlock, there were a couple of peeps riding BMW touring bikes loaded with gear and we chatted for about 30 minutes and rode together back to Tacome and we stopped for dinner at a mexiacan place and they commented it looked like a "fun" machine to ride. They were from Britain. Cool peeps.
Have met only a few that seemed to really dislike bikers. Funny that was directed at me. I am not old school, nor new school, I just like to ride.
For the most part, most like these bikes.
Mostly ppl like the black choppas...

It's pretty even all around, i've been flashed by a chick on foot while fueling up at the Chevron station. Went to Virginia City yesterday and we sat about 30 feet from the bike and watched as young and old, male and female stopped to make compliments and take pictures of it alone and or standing by it. My buddie has an Ultra Classic and has started an old joke of every 20 minutes or so pointing to my bike and in a mongaliod voice saying "Wow, Nice bike man" since every time I stop and even while riding it gets so much attention. I think he's just a little jelious since I'm married and he's single and I get hit on through the bike all the time.

Just bought this bike, had to trailer it across Ohio, it was wet and salt covered roads. Bike was really dirty but while on the road had a toll lady comment how nice it was and then at the gas station just before I got home got another comment from a skinny blond, gotta admit they were not "hot Chicks" but they were both under 45 and at my age that's Ok since I only had the bike for less then 6 hours!! Back in the 80's my softail got lots of attention from the ladies!

Seems like women and men both comment a lot on the dog.

Of course, only certain women comment. Usually, it's the ones that could see themselves on the back of it. The fat ones usually sneer.
