Hardtail guys will always say buy a hardtail and softail the opposite. Ride them both and tell him to make his own damn decision. Their is no doubt in my mind the hardtail looks better.

Thanks guys for the input! We just added another Big Dog to the family:up:

He ended up getting the 04 Chopper DT for less than the ridgeback and it was closer.( ..damn kid always finds deals:) ) I'll have him jump over and do an intro and post more pictures.

Here are some from this past weekend.

I have an 05 Ridgeback. Although it was never mentioned, it may be a good point to discuss is the physical condition of the rider. Any back or organ problems? maybe the softail is th ebetter choice. One thing you should know is that you feel EVERYTHING in and on the road. So even small ripples or bumps (expansion joints on bridges) can be amplified greatly due to the lack of rear suspension. I took a Ridgeback for a test and aimed for every manhole cover and pothole I could find. I wanted to feel the worst before dropping my hard-earned cash down. I've hit some road irregularities since the purchase, but honestly...I wouldnt trade her for anything! Good luck.

I love my ridgeback and I love it even better on smooth roads. I got a good deal on the ridgeback and It's good lookin bike. I haven't regretted the purchase as of yet. I was once almos thrown off the bike because of f*&^%)ed up streets and not paying close attention. Get a test ride for sure.

I have the 2005 Ridgeback which has a 300 rear tire. My experience is if the road is smooth, no problem, but if I'm ridding on rough, or bumpy roads, after a while it starts to get pretty uncomfortable.
Yeah Bro, what Reaper says is the truth! I have an 05 Ridgeback myself and i put 400 plus miles on it without too much monkey butt. I am having an air cell seat made right now that will fix that issue, you can't beat the look of a hardtail! :2thumbs:
