Which trans box on 2002 mastiff

Dont know if thats the right plase to ask, but as I understand, 2002 was the year when BD switched to Baker boxes. So, question is what gearbox is on the 2002 mastiff ?

I think the Baker was optional in 02'. If its a six speed I think it's a Baker. If it's a five speed I think Andrews. In 03' the Baker became standard. But only the Bulldog was offers as the RSD.

Could be a jims as well. I just worked on a 02 pitbull that had one.

FWIW Mine is a Baker 6 in a Jim's case. 04 Pitbull.

Are the Jims sixes? It's pretty mind blowing how uninformative the manual is.

HMAN, Yep seen plenty of Jims 6 speed cases with Baker guts.

stlmike, depends on the year I have seen both 5 and 6 speeds. The 02 I just worked on had a 5 speed.

I have been told by a few that the Jims transmissions are made under licence from baker....By looking at the parts they sure looks like the same stuff and I have built a few that were marked Jims but had baker parts inside.
