Doesn't matter! They are both wonderful choppers that serve a purpose other than racing if you ask me! :D

I've ridden with someone that owns an LSC, I think that my 107 kind of scared him. We've taken off the line at red lights and I always took him from a start, Now - If we were taking a shot on long distance straight aways he'd take me. As far as the 111 to the 117, I think you can take the 111. It won't be easy and I think it would be pretty close. That's my opinion.

But as always, I could be mistaken.

To me it has always been that it's not the bike that'll pull off a race, it would be the rider.:2thumbs:

just wondering which makes more hp ...it has to be one or the other
Then hard to tell depending on year and what the EPA requirements were for each manufacturer that year.
Both are good motors and would provide many years of service if maintained properly.

Faster?

Determined less by the bike and more by the size of the balls on the biker ---

(Seen more than a couple high HP motors that are attached to limp owners -- sure they've never gone over 65 MPH)

I have a Ridge with a 117" and my buddy that I ride with has an AIH with a 111". He rode my bike and said it was a night and day difference and thought my bike had a lot more power. My bike also has a G carb, .600 cam, and exhaust but that puts the motot close to where it should be.

It can depend on the year model IH did not lower the compresion ratios as soon as BD did. The IH 117 in 06 was still listed as 10.2/1. All of this though can be thrown out the window depending on final gearing. The last IH I rode felt like it was geared lower. Also the IH 111 had non sdjustable pushrods not sure about the cam spec:confused:

If he has an 04 real S&S 111 and you have an 05 dog with just a carb and pipes he takes you. Why don't you race him and find out.:D

My dog stomps my buddy's AIH texas chopper, I think it has a 111 or 113. It's by a lot and even with my girl on the back (she's only 115, but still)

For something that close, it's usually who has the bigger balls.

You get some idiot who rides 2-3k miles a year and, I could smoke him on my OL's xl1200 as I ride a wheelie by him.

AND, while what I just said can't really be true, you know what I'm meaning by it.

Hell, I've seen a good friend of mine that has a 1200e motor in a sporty make people look stupid with their bikes as he rides past them on a wheelie with his 16" apes and he's almost falling over backwards.

Have you ever seen a guy that will, not pop a wheelie, but ride one as long as he wants on a 1200 sporty?

I have.
