Which exhaust ???

Energy One
Hi all,
I have a recently purchased 2005 BDM Chopper and am trying to get information on which exhaust pipes you each prefer and why.
Mine is currently fitted with an unknown manufacturers fairly short pipes. The sound levels aren't the main issue I just find them very noisy on overrun (de-throttling) with lots of popping and banging and I don't think these very short pipes are the way to go for smooth performance either.
I'm not interested in balls out performance and would always rate engine longevity as a major plus point.
I am very interested to hear what pipes/jetting people favour.
I'm based in the U.K. so access to BDM spares can be a pain so if any Harley pipes fit then they're always easier to source this side of the pond.
My Chopper has a Super E Shorty Carb, K&N air filter and is fitted with a 031 pilot/intermediate jet and a 072 Main jet. The spark plug cores are on the very very light tan/almost white side.
Any info would be much appreciated and thanks in advance for any replies.
( I've tried to add a picture of current pipes but keep getting the "file too large" flag and not being too tech savvy I'll have wait for the missus to get home at the weekend !!! ).

Rod.

I'm running the Patriot Defenders. They have a deep tone, and I get alot of comments on them. They have an adjustable butterfly in them to adjust for sound and performance. You can look them up on the internet. The ones for the Harley Soft Tail will fit.
My good friend has these on his softtail. They sound really good.

Cheers for the replies people, a few people have stated that H-D softail pipes fit, does anyone know if aftermarket H-D Softail pipes will fit in general and if so are there any particular years??

One other option everyone missed..... Frankie! Check out one of the awesome vendors we have, FSD exhausts. He probably got something you like.....?

Well I took delivery of the Vance and Hines Big Radius pipe and have loosely hung it on the bike..........it looks superb but as mentioned previously it will need a bracket fabricating. Once done I'll be back with an update.......Thanks for all your replies....

I have these pipes, before mounting, remove the baffle drill at least 4-6 1/2" holes in the rear plate and drill out some 4-6 of the existing holes in the sides of the baffle. This will give you a better sound without affecting performance.
