HEADS UP!!!! if you live in south florida, in dade, broward or palm beach county i have a great shop to take your big dog to. the shop is called Chopper Zoo (Bourget Bike Works). The owner's name is Eric. They are very knowledgeable people, friendly and the work they do is top notch. I had taken my bike to another shop, the tranny was worked on (replaced the shifter pawl). The bike was leaking oil days after having the work done. I traced the leak to the tranny. I was told that the bike had frame problems, the bike would have to be stripped down to the frame, put in a frame jig and straightened. I did not believe this so i took the bike to Chopper Zoo. They laughed when i told them about the "frame problem". They had to replace the seals in the tranny, they were leaking. They told me the inner primary had chrome build up where the seal is installed, for the tranny, so the seal would not seat all the way. The chrome was removed and the seal fitted properly. This fixed the "frame problem". I have taken the bike to them to solve the performance problem i had. They have come through for me every time. Chopper Zoo is the only place i will take my bike to now. I recommend them to anyone who owns a Big Dog. Eric will also get you parts for your bike at a lower price than you will find in any catalog!

Eddie is no longer is a BD dealer.
I wouldn't bring my BD there as I know of people that have and were "NOT" happy with their service at all !!!

Don't know of Chopper Zoo but will ask my buds if they know about them.

Hippy,
I ride to the Keys all the time, it's a great ride with lots of places to eat and drink cold brews.
Biker friendly bars are everywhere !

From Key Largo to Key West is about 150 +/- miles.

I've ridden to Key West for lunch and back home the same day.
I get an early start to avoid traffic, go to Sloppy Joe's for lunch, hang out awhile check all the eye candy then head back home. :D
It's about a 3 hr ride one way.

Only thing "watch" your speed as the State Troopers and Broward Sherriff’s Office make their money giving out speeding tickets....don't ask. :bang:

It would be great to ride with another BD owner in the Keys! :2thumbs:

Michael - good to meet you yesterday!

We all need to hool up for a ride. Maybe to Jimbo's or Cafe 27?

Trotta - I've known Eddie for over 10 years. They have done a lot custom work for me. You have to remember Eddie does not turn wrenches any more, so it boils down to the skill of the guys in back working on your bike. For the past 2 years he had a really great mechanic who recently left. Thunder is no longer a BDM dealer cause the floor plan became cost prohibitive for him - he also let a lot of his staff go.

Bourgets / OCC / Chopper Zoo - Excellent shop. I've known Eric for about 7 years. They have always had the same head mechanic there, a guy called Mark, who is the best in the business and OCD complusive to having everthing perfect. - Example, a while back ago they installed a hidden kill switch for me. Mark sends a worker to the local boat shop to get a simple on/off toggle swtich. The kid comes back, Mark looks at the box that the switch came in and it says "Made in Mexico" on the box. He throws it in the trash and tells the kid to get another one thats made in the USA and says "I'm not going to put that on a bike this nice" .

They are an authorized BDM service center and are one of the few shops that have a dyno. Excellent work and you'll never have a problem with them. I give them a "10".

Old Hippy - if your ever headed this way, post to give us a heads up and I'll take you to some interesting places...

Just in the Keys last month for the Hoka Hey start off - Met a girl there on a BDM who lives there and is a freind of Mark and Pam.. small world.

Michael I could not agree with you more, Chopper Zoo is DEFIANTLY the place to take your bike. I have had nothing but great experiences with both Eric and Liz and there staff, there tech guys are excellent and let me know exactly what the problem was. I had a problem with my BD Wolf it was over heating way to fast, I called Big Dog about the problem and they told me that it was normal for the wolf to over heat even if stuck in traffic for a short period of time. Well I felt that was a line of BS, so I dropped it off at Chopper Zoo and they dealt directly with S&S and fixed the problem. ....So much for being normal.

chacha they found an intake leak at the front head. They just changed the seals and the problem was fixed. So much for Big Dog saying it was normal and another dealer wanting to pump up the heat range, which would have voided my warranty. Its nice to know that there still are honest dealers out there. Chopper Zoo is one of those dealers.
