Where are the fuses?

I have a 2007 K9, I made a real bone head move and inadvertently shorted out the battery for a second but enough to apparently blow the main fuse. There is no power to the ignition switch. I don't know where that fuse or for that matter where any fuses are. Does anyone know where I find them?

BTW, I'm also trying to acquire a service manual.

Thanks NewBoots especially for the heads up. I just posted my intro. Thanks also for the manuals link.

I have an '07 so I'm not which of the .pdf files apply.

I'm really stumped on this fuse issue. I would have thought there would be a fuse block but can't seem to find one andI can't seem to see any inline fuses. I also haven't found anything on where the fuses are located so I can test them with a meter.

Thanks again for your help... and suggestion!

OK, Thank you! So it appears I have a bigger problem then since when I shorted out the battery I no longer had power at the ignition switch. There are no lights or anything that would be considered normal when you turned the key on.

Any suggestions as to where I should head next. If all else fails I'll trailer the bike to the dealer who has done my service. But I thought it might be a relatively easy fix.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

I no longer had power at the ignition switch.
When you say "no power" do you mean as in 0 volts? Or is it just something less than 12V? (Hint: You shouldn't have 12V!)

And where did you short your battery... from where to where?

Disconnect your battery for a few minutes and let the EHC reset itself. When you reconnect the battery wires to the terminals make sure you have the correct wires connected to the correct (positive and negative) terminals. Make sure you didn't forget to connect a wire that might have fell down inside your side cover.

Same thing happened to me, left me with nothing no lights or anything else.
Tourned out the Ehc was burned. :job:

Thank you all! Here's a recap since so many of you have sent me helpful ideas. BTW, I really appreciate this! I did pull the battery out, checked wires for obvious burns (none), haven't found the 40A fuse yet but will do that next. Thanks for the manuals, I read almost all of the electrical one and realized that the EHC would reset if disconnected. I made sure the battery was charged (reading 13.04 volts), reinstalled the battery and when I turn the ignition switch I get a yellow and a flashing green light. I also have the headlight, emergency flashers work, no front or rear turn signals, no speedometer lights or movement. When I try to start nothing happens but I do get a red flashing light on the EHC. That's all for now. I think my next step is to trailer it to the dealer because I'm not sure I have the skills to go any further. Unless there is an obvious point I've missed. I will post the outcome after the dealer gets to see it. I have a feeling this mistake is going to be painful ($$$).

There is still a lot of testing you could do to narrow down the problem. However, I would save the dealer expense and pick up a Wires Plus, Bid Dog PDM retro-fit kit or a used EHC off ebay. If your wiring skills are not the best get the PDM or EHC. I see one of each on ebay right now.

Shovelshot is correct, the lights on your EHC are telling you what's going on. Open up that eletronic copy of the maintenance manual and compare the lights your seeing to the picture of the EHC in the electrical section. The manual has the system labeled by each light on the EHC. :D
