Does anyone know when Big Dog plans to update their website to show their 2008 models, new accessories (I hope) and new merchandise? :bang: Here it is October already, for crying out loud! :argue:

With all the competition out there, you'd think these guys would take this more serious - their website is a joke compared to others I've seen. The only website worse than Big Dog's is American Ironhorse! ....in my humble opinion anyway..:flag:

As little info as they have on their site, they should have 1-2 people dedicated to running it. My guess is they out source the design and updates to some company and probably haven't supplied them with any updates.

In today's market, they should really keep on top of it. A strong web presence is essential these days.

In the past few years they haven't updated the site till the new year. I agree they don't put much effort into it.
You can't even download an owners manual for an 04 or older bike now. How hard would it be to keep the .pdf files available?

That's always bugged me, too.

If I get a chance, I'll ask 'em when I stop by the factory this afternoon.

That goes for anyone here.

Big Dog has updated their site somewhat.
The accessories portion has a section for the 2008's and in it is the Mutt.

Interesting that the accessories section is the first place you can see a (very tiny) picture of the new models.

Thanks Oscar but I have them. I was just making a point that they should always be available on the website.

I agree. I beleive that they should offer an area in there web site where they would have the manuals from day 1. But who are we for them to listen to.

In this day and age a informative website is a must if you want to attract poetential buyers and leave a postive image. BDM's site is minimal at best with no specs, no what's special about thier bikes, no inovations they produced, no FAQ section, no recall information, ... and on and on. Same for quite a few others, they need to get with the times.

But we all still bought one right

It's just a little family sized bike shop in a tiny midwest town - at least that's what it feels like when you visit the factory - right up until you see inside the distribution warehouse. But, I suspect that small town attitude pervades into their marketing strategies and limits creative use of the web. Just my two bits.

I asked them about it yesterday, and they said they are really picky about their photo shoots, and still don't have the combination of web photos they want. **sigh**

Wow! Hammering the Mid-West (Wichita, KS) and the bigdog company. But! They got you to buy one. You would probably be amazed at the number of companies and entrepreneurs that have come from the ICT area. Just to mention 1, Pizza Hut. I have lived in the Wichita area for 30 years. I came here from Houston Texas, so yes compared to Houston; Wichita is a tiny Midwest town with a population of 400,000. It is slow and the weather sucks. Hotter than hell in the summer, colder than $%^%^$ in the winter and windy all the time. On the other hand, it’s a great place to raise kids. Oh Yeah! And did I mention they got you to buy one. I'll have to ring Maybelle on the phone to post this for me. I hope she's not at church....lol

Hey Firedog, welcome to the site.
No complaining here! Just some comments that with all of us now living in an "information age" BDM should keep up with the website.
We all love your dogs as you will see on this site from all the threads. We keep a very positive attitude here compared to the other site.
I'll bet Maybelle keeps there website updated! :D

Do you work at BDM? If so how about some promotional items?
What are you riding and how long have you had it?
You'll like it here.
