Wheel bearings

I have an 07 K-9. A local shop told me that they believed my front bearings were the sealed type and good to a 100K miles. I haven't been able to verify this. Anyone here know the answer.

how many miles you got on the bike now?? seeing as you can prolly ride all year you might want to just do it once a year?? I mean is your life worth 40-50 bucks??

I have 06 K9 needed front around 10000 miles, I am at 25000 and am doing rear I checked at 20000 and decided to wait until this winter.

The 07 manual and service manual give no mileage reference but your right its not worth 40 or 50 bucks to take the chance. Besides your right I ride year round. Don't Hate just move.

I'm sure the owners manual clearly states on the 07's to inspect the bearings every 10,000 miles.
The 05 manual states to replace. I've posted them here somewhere before. Site getting to large to find now though!

Screw BD and their stupid bearings.
I went down to my custom guy here in San Diego, Performance Choppers. They are milling my front hubs to accept these new "standard" size bearings that Harley and most other V Twin builders are putting in now. This bearing is twice the thickness of the BD bearing, slighltly larger in diameter, and sealed. And the best part of all, per Harley Davidson Service Manual I saw it myself, they only have to be replaced every 60 -70 thousand miles. Thats right boys and girls I said "Every 60 tp 70 thousand miles". Now it did cost me 300 bucks for this fix, thats total bearinngs and labor and all, but a new set of bearings will only cost me around 20 bucks for the set and the best part is I won't need to do this service for a long ass time which will save me more than three hundred bucks in the long run.
