Harley riders knock Big Dog (chopper riders in general) and Big Dog riders knock HD. What exactly am I suppose to do when I own both BDM and HD???? I have no complaints with either, except one...which one do I ride today??? I will admit, I'm pretty partial toward my Harley just because of the horsepower. K9 is pretty weak in comparison. Seriously thinking about building the Dog up to the 124... Thoughts???

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
Hmmmm..I also have both (K9 and FLHX) and prefer the Dog (wifey prefers the Harley)....but have never felt dissed..more like ignorance because they have never ridden anything like my K9. They think it is too hard to corner and uncomfortable...'You can't ride it over 100 miles', etc.
It's fun to ask the Q: 'Ever ridden one?', which is a bit like a lawyer, cz I already know the answer..
But I think a good many of us have both bikes and get along fine...

Looking forward to retirement
Why just a 124" ship it to Kendal Johnson in Winston Salem NC and get him to build it up to a 145". It will not cost that much more.

What I do ...I wear a HD t shirt when riding the Big Dog and sport a Big Dog Shirt whenever I ride the HD , and I might add if your HD is faster/more powerful then your Big Dog you got a lemon /low hp example sorry for your luck:D My Dog is way more powerful then my two HD's and my riding bud's Screaming Eagle ... pales in comparison also ! You should investigate why your BD is slow . :loony:

IMO its about the ride, not the bike. During bbbq last year my buddy was on a sportster and we rode with a guy on a Honda Fury. I wouldn't ride either but that's why I'm on a dog and they ride what they want. And I know they enjoy and take as much pride in their bikes as I do mine.

But nothing compares to a dog :D

I can't really help you with the first part of your question. I've never run into that problem. I'll ride with anybody and it doesn't matter to me what there on. And have never had anybody talk bad about my k9. I would be more worried about why my k9 is weaker and slower than the Street Glide. Your dogs got a problem somewhere

I've never had a problem with other riders saying something negative about my BDM, if they do it seems to be envy. Now I will say I do have problems with Harley Davidson dealerships, but we discussed that in depth before.

The two people I ride with the most ride a brand new Gold Wing, and a Road King. I live in a fairly rural area and there are only one or two other Big Dog owners around, but I never let the motorcycle I ride define the friends I hand out with. The Gold Wing and the Road King Owner are the two guys around town I have the most in common with, so that who I pal around with and ride.

I must admit, it has to be the world's fastest I'm partial to. I especially like the way it gets you home. Say if you have a sudden bowel movement going that didn't sit well at, "Hose Says all you can eat Take Hose" eatery? You begin to appreciate that kind of bike.

That is what I am a thinking 2,, I think , my experience ,, my brother rides with a bunch of gold wingers, and they act kinda snooooty,, most all the Harley folks have treated me good,,, I will treat them all better than they treat me if given a chance ,, that goes for anyone..

I get a lot of flack from Harley Riders about my Dog.... If it isn't a "Harley" you're a piece of crap. I have always hated this attitude and have always ignored it... but, it gets old. I just hate the "better than thou" attitude of Harley riders. My bike is American built... the harley is American built... what's your issue? I have buddies that I ride with and they have a variety of bikes.. everything from Yamaha's to Hyabusa's.... and they always ask where I'm riding first because they are worried about Harley riders doing something to their bikes while we are in the bar or siteseeing or something. AND IT DOES GO ON EVERY TIME WE RIDE.... it's bullcrap... And it only comes from Harley riders... no one else EVER gives a shit about what you ride...:loony:

My buddy bought a brand new 2012 Ultra Classic CVO Screamin Eagle everything. After 2000 miles break in we got to race. On highway approx. 1/4 mile from 10 mph start I smoked his ass. I got a stock 117. Any questions!!!!

Why not accept both for what they are. I have a K9 and a Road King. The k9 will kick the Road Kings ass and it's motor has been mildly built. The King is great for long trips the Dog is great for day rides. I love them both.
