What year had the least amount of problems???

I think it'll vary with who's tinkering with what and what riding styles. I always thought the 05 was the problem child and maybe it was but thanks to Beezer, he caught everything in time before it became an issue with mine. Been running solid with minimal down time 4 years running. :2thumbs:

I am gonna add a chopper or a K9 to the pound and I am thinking maybe another 04 might be the way to go vs. a newer model

Good ole' 2005 had the most... Like they say...

The AMF year !!! :moped:

But hey, all the little issues can be fixed with minimal $$$ and effort and be just as, or more reliable, than a new model.

My 2004 had many issues, wrong pistons matched to the cylinders! so it needed a complete rebuild before 2000 miles, then the trans went south
because part of the casting broke loose and sucked inside and went through the gears.

I have an '05, so I'll have to say a 2010 that's still on the showroom floor has the least amount of problems.:roll: But I do love my dog!

Coming from a AMF HD I sure would never compare my 05 Chopper to it (although I got many many miles out of it). Guess I better get rid of my 05 before I get any more miles out of it!!!!!

I believe it all comes down to maintenance. You take care of your bike and it will take care of you.

I take of my shit better than anyone on here, anyone local would tell you I am anal!!!

Issues I have had are all BDM issues, not self inflicted.

My 2004, wrong pistons in the motor, and broken casting in the trans.

My 2005, broken clutch carrier, valve guides caused unseated rings so entire top end rebuild needed, hand control pad went bad, headlight plug melted, VR went out 2 times, EHC went about 6 times.

I'd say that stuff will go no matter how well you take care of the bike. my bike is a 2005, with about 10,000 miles on it, and it looks like the day I bought it.
