what we all want Bigger jugs !!!

Hi all, i have a 05 mastiff that has 20k plus miles on it, and i am going to take her down over winter for a repaint and a rebuild i would really like to keep her with matching numbers and looking completely original, so what i am wondering after looking through the forums for a while, re engine upgrades and what i have been thinking is it possible to put 124 cu inch jugs heads and pistons in the 117 motor or would the casings need work to allow the bigger pistons through, i would of course have the crank and all mains done as well plus valve work done, plus a super g carb, i am also looking for quite a few other parts if anyone can help out. my shopping list is new chrome lower forks, electrical covers, tank centre panel can these be got in steel ?, front and rear brake rotors with chrome centre ring, new BDM mirrors, 2up seat with gel inserts. By the way i am in New Zealand if you would have any problems with shipping i understand.

The major difference between the 124" and the 117" is longer stroke flywheels. The bores are the same.

Hi John, many thanks for the reply i thought the question might of been too hard, so would this make my motor too high for the frame ?? and would i need to have the casings altered to allow for the rods and pistons to have enough room ? or would it be better to just put in a 124 motor or would that also be too high ?? i am looking at starting the work in the next few weeks, but i do not want to go and order if none of the parts will fit in the frame. i know its going to cost but i only want to do it once and have the bike the way i want it, also what do you think of keeping the matching numbers is this a big deal ?? i could keep the original motor in storage if i ever sold the bike so it could go with it. i am just looking for some real good advice here i want some more power as the bike is all standard at the moment and while i have the money to do this now i would like to be able to do it right first time, my other mods include either a baker or another belt drive that's not too wide, and the baker gearbox was rebuilt before i got the bike so that should be all good, any input would be great many thanks and the very best of regards to you and your family
