Called around looking for a s&s rocker kit. Was told that the TP ROCKERS are not really the problem. It's the rocker arm....

TP and S&S are close but no cigar. the rocker assembly geometry is just a little bit off as compared to the S&S valves so what happens is the valve stems are wobbled instead of pushed in a direct line. which causes the valve guides to wear in an oblong shape which causes oil leakage into the cylinders and, as time goes on, the bike starts smoking some.

this is my story and i'm stickin' to it.

Is it possible my k9 has just the TP Rocker cover and s&s rocker arm? This is the impression I got from that phone call. Was not very helpful the guy. That's why I put the question on here.

Yes I got the same attitude yesterday... I was very disappointed because before yesterday I heard that the customer service was great there... He seemed very irritated. guess he does not want my business..lol:flag:
Or maybe he was having a bad day..... I still want to get the mod done but I need everything in one kit as I am overseas and it will be difficult to buy from here and there....

So by installing the rocker rollers. Can I still use the TP COVERS? does this cure some of the problem? These are some of the questions I wanted to ask him but I felt like I was bothering him so I just let it go.

one of the reasons most go ahead and change out the covers and boxes is that the TP chrome tends to peel quite badly.
