show this is freaky - I put a new bolt in mine, went for a 30 or so mile ride and when I got back mine was gone too. I'm guessing the loctite (I used blue) didn't go off but I was still surprised to see it gone. I got another one in there now and I won't be riding it for a while so hopefully should be good.

Your right green is the strongest - supposedly permanent though so think about it carefully. I believe it does soften with heat (so to me can't be permanent?) but will still hold. I got green in some of my clutch bolts.

Think I will be going with green on this one. Pisses me off that I only had that $5.50 bolt in there for just a few days and it's gone.

DV your the man!!!

The same bolt came loose on my 07 Chopper because the cone shaped aluminum nut stripped out. I replaced it with a 1/2'-20 lock nut and blue loctite and then a chrome cap. What was BDM thinking with that aluminum cone nut? Anyway it ended up becoming the cap for my buddys enrichener control on his Bulldog.

As I mentioned I lost mine and replaced it used blue loctite (heavily coated) did it when the bike was cold and let it set overnite. Never had any more problems after that, nor when I removed the coil cover for the valve srings swap. Installed the bolt the same way:confused:

Are you sure its the right length bolt?

Mine doesn't go all the way through. The mount IS the nut. If it went all the way through I would drill a hole and put a pin in it. I will just buy another one and green loctite it. And, yes, it is the right length. I tightened the hell out of it too....

If it keeps coming out you need to check all you motor mount bolts and your tranny mount bolts. They could be loose making the top bolt vibrate right back out. Mine was fixed on the service bulletin so I'm not sure exactly what the fix was. i'm gonna look.

Show, are you relaxing the other three bolts and ensuring the coil cover is properly positions and everything is lined up and tight?

I did this and I still lost mine after 40 miles - I'm gonna keep a close eye on this one if I ever manage to get my bike back together!
