What should I except to pay?

Taking my Dog in to have my polished wheels replaced with my Chrome wheels I recently purchased from a fellow club member. The shop says $75/hour. How long should it take. 300 rear 70/21 front

Not sure on how long it would actually take but I would do it myself and save the cash. Aside from having the tires re-mounted/balanced on the new chrome wheels, it's a 'your own garage' type job.....:2thumbs:

Good luck either way.

After gettin nailed for almost $300 for a rear tire on my Road King I learned real quick. I now do it myself for about $150. Tire, Mount & balance included. Run a search. I bet Gas Man has a great How To somewhere.:2thumbs:
Leaves a lot more $ for chrome.

I just changed all my wheel bearings and tires after having my rims powdercoated. I paid $15 for each rim to have old tires removed and new ones mounted, total was $30. I removed all the old bearings and gave a bud of mine a 12 pack to take my hubs to work and press in my new bearings. Removing the wheels off the bike is not that big of a deal.

What bearings did you put back in your rims?

I replaced all with Timken bearings and the front seals were james gasket. The rear were Timken 6205RS-16 and the front bearings were from all balls and they were timken but I forget the number.

I've been wondering about this too Alhall esp after having given a local shop about 120. to change out my rear tire for labor. I used to do my dirt bikes growing up all the time, but what about these bikes and the importance of alignment to nth degree etc? I mean I've seen laser jigs and other specialty tools for this right.
I've adjusted my wife's metric bike for chain stretch and resultant common sense alignment from that. Seems to ride fine with no specialty procedure.
So what says you guys, most all these scare tactics related to handling talk or wear usually taken to the extreme by the shops to get you to use 'em for business or what? I need to check my bearing out for my 10k service am thinking.
