Yup I went past him at about 60 MPH in a 50 MPH zone. That's why I was looking down. I wanted him to know I was checking my speedometer. He could have got me though as I was excellerating pretty good past him and I knew if I put on my brakes, he would stop me for sure.

Hahaha I have done this before. Luckily I knew the officer and he just shook his head and laughed at me when he pulled up next to me.

Yup it sure did!! I knew if I hit my brakes it was all over with. Of course the difference between 50 and 60 on a bike is easy to get too. I sware I didn't see him until I was right up next to him. Talk about not paying attention!!!!!

I got lucky like that once. Sitting at a light in front of the Buffalo, NY airport. Light turned green rolled it on and hit about 70 in a 45. Stopped at the next light to see a Sheriff pull along side in the other lane shaking his head. I think he must have been right behind me when I took off. Lucky day for sure.:flag:

I actually got the siren last year on the Dragon, but talked my way out of a ticket. The first thing out of his mouth was "Nice Bike". It occured to me that saying something like, "I cleaned it up just for you" might not get me any where with signing a ticket or taking a ride in the back of his car. I knew after he said that even though I was doing double the speed limit I could whine my way out of a ticket. If you watch this he is sitting on the left side of the road under a big tree in a gravel parking lot with the radar gun pointed directly at me. I never saw him and figured I was doing 80-90 before he followed me for a few miles before hitting the siren. He had a pretty black car too. Exactly 7 minutes and 32 seconds into it.

I never saw him at all. My mirrors vibrate and I was not looking behind me at all. Then the "siren"! The buzz cut cop with a pair of oakleys on looked like he just left roll call, but he turned out to be a nice guy and I did slow down a bit afterwards. I was still a few miles from the switchback curves in the dragon at that point. He clocked me at 60 something in a 30. He asked me did I know what the speed limit was there. I said I think I saw 50 back there some where. He said that was about 14 miles back down the road. I am thinking " opps"! Then the slow down speach. I tryed to act like I had never heard it before too. He turned out to be a good guy and let me go with a verbal warning and I did slow down.
