It may be stronger than the center drilled breather bolts....?Weird, wonder why DM uses it for all their air filter bracket kits. Guess I'm good to replace it with a standard bolt

Idk, weird that they use it in that kit since The 117 doesn't breath through the boltsIt may be stronger than the center drilled breather bolts....?
Most likely a "generic" kit.Idk, weird that they use it in that kit since The 117 doesn't breath through the bolts
My dm spike kit I had 2 bolts that go into the head the had a whole in them for the little chrome metal filters can be used instead of the small filter between the tanks , but they don't look like mine at all , I would guess that the just change the style of getting air in thereI need to get another bolt bit about 1/2" longer. It's for the air filter bracket that threads into the head. Is this like a self tapping bolt? Can I use just a regular one? I need a 3" chrome one thread is 1/4 20. Local stores don't have anything and can't find online. Any idea where I can check if I can't just use a regular bolt? Thanks
As long as u put a small air filter between the tanks u just use regular chrome bolts, but u need 1 filter or the other. Good luckI'm in Arizona, I can look it up online but not sure what the proper name is for a bolt that is cut like that. Unless it's not needed, then I can order a basic button chrome bolt
BreathingThat groove is too long for a self tapping screw. Wonder if its for breathing or venting.?
It's for venting if u don't put the small filter between the tanks but the length u will need because when u put the bracket onto the carb the left and right bracket holes that line up to the heads. It's going to need washers behind the bracket to the head bolts. DM's spike is a nice piece I have a pit bull and I needed washers unless the newer ones have small spacers but I doubt itI'll give D&M a call tomorrow and see what's up, it's the bolts in this kit..

Bro that things not moving after u put the small 3 screws into the carb u will see the space need for washers don't tighten the 3 bolts like they are staying in there because u will be taking the right back outIt may be stronger than the center drilled breather bolts....?
I have the 04 anniversary addition with there trial of the 117 cu inch to see how it goes but I bought the dm spike, bracket, and jet but mine has the vent holes in the heads then they put the 117 cu inch motor on 05 model from there on out...with the emissions and 300 rear tire, and right side drive. Hope the info helpsIdk, weird that they use it in that kit since The 117 doesn't breath through the bolts
Not the same 117 between 04 and 05 even, I suppose there might be a few late model 04's possibly but not likely.I have the 04 anniversary addition with there trial of the 117 cu inch to see how it goes but I bought the dm spike, bracket, and jet but mine has the vent holes in the heads then they put the 117 cu inch motor on 05 model from there on out...with the emissions and 300 rear tire, and right side drive.
