View attachment 38423 At the top and left is an open tube... mine has a 'cap' on it but the cap is splitting so I need a new one.... what is it and what does it do.?
Don't know the real purpose for that tube, but without that rubber cap it makes a really big vacuum leak and crappy performance! Run down to the auto parts house and pick up some of those little rubber vacuum line caps. Somewhere around the garage, I've got about 100 of those caps, if I could just find the darned things! NOW GO TO BED, OR ELSE SANTA WON'T COME !!

Yes a extra vacuum line. Those caps dry rot after a while. When I bought my bike it was setting for a while. On the ride home one fell off, bike ran like shit. Lucky I had some black tape and found the leak. Bike ran fine the rest of the way home. Had me scared for a while.

Dam I bet, there's no feeling like riding just after the sale and sencing or seeing something is wrong.
A dead battery or old fuel im usually Happy to contend with.

Before I go to see anything, I politely ask them not to start the machine before I get there, if it's warm I usually have the fuck it I'll walk away attitude.
Once bitten twice shy.
