What is the Vent with the black rain coat for?
What is the Vent for?

On my bike that was the fitting that went to the charcoal canister used on all Kalifornia bikes due to C.A.R.B. requirements.
When I yanked all that stuff off I just capped it like in this photo. Its the blue arrow. The red arrow points to the front breather hose that is plumbed to the maniford. The rear breather goes to the backing plate or is vented to the bottom of the motorcycle by some here.

Both my Cali bikes came with the canister and the Vent with the rain coat...
Its funny on my old bike when it was running lean and it sneezed in the carb it would blow the rain coat off and the bike would run rough...I carried extras(Dads advice tweeked a little) under the seat with some zip ties..
Maybe mine were hooked up a little different...

I don't think it could be that...it goes in the carb and is open flowing...It's opening is just behind the butterfly...
