This bike is in Arkansas right now, but hard to say were its been over the last fifteen years.Just out of curiosity does this bike happen to be in Wichita, if so I know the seller and the bike and your good as gold with the MSO. If it happens to be in Lyons then I would ask him to title it first.
Actually there shouldn't be any taxes owed. It would be different if it had been titled but not tagged in Kansas for the past 15 years but because it has sat in Rodney's shop not being sold for 15 years really should pose no issues.I'd be having it titled in Kansas, but buying in Arkansas. That may or may not complicate things. It's a hell of a deal if I can get a title for it. I'm going to run down tomorrow and take a look at it.
I also wonder if there would be any issues with back taxes, etc. Its been sitting around all these years without a title or tags, so I'm guessing no one has bothered to pay taxes on it the last fifteen years. A call to the DMV will defiantly be in order Monday before I hand over any cash.
Riding on dealer tags. We regularly sent new bikes to dealers with 1500+ on the odometer that had been used as factory demo bikes. How did it get 2700 miles with a MSO?
If I had 2 bikes and only licensed one, I could switch the plates, I have not had my bike inspected since 07' when I bought it. And if you had 2 harleys and 1 license they do not check the vin# anyway when your pulled over, I have never seen a LEO look at the vin#How did it get 2700 miles with a MSO?
Cool until you have a wreck and they do check the vin.even in the right you may be wrong. If I had 2 bikes and only licensed one, I could switch the plates, I have not had my bike inspected since 07' when I bought it. Both bikes would have to be the same color or the LEO might start checking the VINIf I had 2 bikes and only licensed one, I could switch the plates, I have not had my bike inspected since 07' when I bought it. Tru Dat, I'm not condoning that type of activity, except the inspection, but so many people are driving around without insurance and no drivers license either, which is very sad. I was just saying there are ways people could put miles on a bike without registration. Here in Pa. they would take the bike until you prove otherwise, but that still don't mean its right. My neighbor used to switch plates all the time on his bikes and I don't think he had insurance on all of them and here's the kicker, he was a retired State Trooper. Yes, you heard me correct, some think they are above the law and I only said SOME.Cool until you have a wreck and they do check the vin.even in the right you may be wrong.

Even if it cost you $500-$1000 more I believe it would be worth it! I see a huge headache ! The MSO was for the original owner (the guy who currently owns the bike) he was to lazy to go get a title. MSO's are NON transferable from buyer to buyer, that's called a Title!!!!!!!!!! He either gets the title or PASS on this bike!Contact the DMV in you're state. You may have to have it inspected and repaired if they find anything wrong. I would tell the guy to go get a clear title in his name if he wants to sell it.
