What I found this morning....

I dunno...the pitbull's seat may be like that since it's a springer seat?

Hell if I know. Mine suction cups and those scratch enough by themselves.

Hmmm...

Geeze. If that is what I have to look forward to then forget the wife I am riding solo. Can you post larger images? Are these images before or after a passenger had ridden? What did the installer have to say? Do we know exactly what caused it? Bad design, bad install?? WTF are those stickers?

thanks

There are 4 screws if you look closely which hold the seat in place in addition to the suction cups. You can see them in picture 1 and 2. The stickers are from the underside of the seat. They are just warning stuff. The problem is, the 4 screws which held the seat on fell off and just sat under those brackets causing significant damage to the fender when people rode on the pad...The screws dug the fender out (picture 3). Doesn't look like the screws were tightened properly or they just fell out. The seat doesn't look stripped out, so I'm guessing they were never tightened properly. The dealer installed the seat before I picked to bike up. Emailed them today, but they are closed.

this may be a silly quesiton but are the brackets put on correctly? I'll have to look at mine not sure if they can be put on backwards or not. Again not sure but looking at your pics the bracket part that connects to the p pad looks aweful close to the fender doesn't even look like there is room for a screw????

WoW, my K-9 pad is straight suction cups, no bracket's or screws, and why would ya put screws where the pass sits ??? I would think you'd be askin for what has happend to your fender

Why in the hell would you attach the passager pillon pad to a seat that is spring loaded? That just insane, that seat should just stick on the fender and leave a small gap between the 2 so the driver seat can use the shock fully

 mother f'r dude so sorry about that damage. Any other 08 owners have any input other than ride solo?? Is ther a max load on these things? I have not tried to install the pad yet and I do have the 3M film but the film I believe only covers the suction cups. Even if it did cover the bracket area it certainly wouldn't have prevented the damage you have. Let us know the outcome with the stealer.

The pad doesn't mount to the seat... it mounts on the fender under the seat.

Wow! I'd be pissed!!! Don't understand the purpose of the bracket. Why not just use the suction cups like on the K9s? Is that a BDM or a dealer design?
