What do people pay for a repaint on a K9?

Looking at a K9 tomorrow and was going to use the needed repaint as a bargain chip. Not that the paint is bad I just don't like the graphics. I would be looking for a cover up or a respray of tank and fenders and maybe a flame job. I want to say "this repaint is going to cost me ____ how about this much for the bike". Any ideas or who I could talk to.

It really depends on just how much graphics/art you want to paint. Ballpark estimate? $1K to $3K

Here's my lousy opinion...
Look at all the sought after goodies you're getting for 14k

A K9!!!
S&S Rocker boxes
Wire plus (or similar)
Sissybar ready struts,
BR 2-2 exhaust
Spike AC

Not for nuthin' but that's a good deal... If I were selling, I doubt I'd go lower... telling him it needs a paint job might just rub him the wrong way.

The color is awesome and the graphics are not bad, just not your style. It's almost a shame to cover up a good patriotic ink with a simple flame job.

Maybe pass on this bike knowing that some Zealous Veteran will scoop it up with his deployment cash and cherish the graphics, and the killer deal he got.

But... to each his own.

It might be a buyers market...but put yourself in his postion...and i'm not one to talk but i'm workin on it..............
I trust you did not take me out of context. What I was referring to was not to insult the man about his choice if graphics. Not necessarily referring to the price of the bike.

Well.... I looked at it today. We both drove a 100 miles and met at a Wal-Mart. He came down to $13,500.
I just can't handle the color. Bike is nice, price and condition I want. Needs a tire to get through PA inspection. Graphics would have to go, some of it was brush work, but I just can't handle the base color. I don't think I have it in me take the bike apart and do a color change. I have the ability just not the desire. If it was just the tins that I wanted to change I would have it in my garage. Bike is going to be a good buy for someone.
Who here has done a complete color change?

Check out my rebuild! Paid 2k for the paint job and frame powdercoat. This rebuild has been really fun especially since I can't ride right now..
