Time for a new battery, there are probably as many opinions on this as oil and the intent is not to start an oil thread. But if you have had a good experience or a bad experience with a certain type or brand, please enlighten my knowledge.

Thanks.

The search for battery was not very helpful actually. I see some AGM batteries on EBay for $121,- Anybody tried these?

Just pick up a Harley softail battery. They are made by Deka. That way if you need warranty, your local dealer is right there.

:iagree: I'm using Harley softail batteries in all my scoots and they work just fine.

i have had good results from braille (just bought my second) and bad results out of interstate (went through 2 in less than 2 weeks). but actually, the one that has lasted the longest was the original, go figure.

would not swear to it, but from the looks of the braille and the tomioka, i would say they are made by the same people and probably on the same production line. both brands have the same dimensions and the same 15# weight.

Got a Deka also with no issue, but that be said, my last one was a Wal-Mart special that went over 2.5 years with no issue and the only reason I changed it was due to going on long trip and figured, did not want no issue. But it started the Mastiff right up, never failed and was cheap.

Also all my previous we Big Dog labeled and never had issue with them either.

Oh most of the batteries will be AGM (Absorption Glass Mat), even the original BD was! AGM are pretty much the some as old lead acid but have mats in them verse free floating acid, and are designed to never need servicing and not leak acid like the regular lead cell.

Great input, thanks a million guys. I ordered a Deka, just like the one that is in there now. Due to moving and a rather busy schedule the poor old dog has not been ridden much in the last few months and I bet it's just letting me know it needs to be ridden. Now I just need to find some local bike nights up here and take her for some week end trips.

if you are in ATL. , you could have some really good weekends heading up into N. GA. up I-75/ I-575 and hitting the side roads back over toward gainesville, helen, blairsville, suches, cartersville, and the like. i envy you.

Your absolutely right. Both made in the USA by the same company. I run the Tomioka has a little more CCA

Just moved here, so not too familiar with local events but love the mountains north of here. Another member just informed me about Helen next week end and we will see if we can work that out, it's just 2 hours north of here going back roads. I'm pretty much off from October to February and will get lots of good rides in then.
