Occasionally, but not sure which shows. He's a retired Navy man after 30 years and just retired a couple years ago from the Military Sealift Command out of Norfolk. That's about 45 minutes give or take from suffolk where I live. Does he do the local car shows?

He's planning on moving to Georgia this summer and trying to decide if he's going to sell it or haul it down there with him. If he decides to sell I'll let you know.Been looking for a 57![]()
Now I really want to see... 47-57 Chevy pickups are my favorite. I have a 1958 392 Hemi sitting in the corner of my garage, my dream is to build a blower motor 392 and build a street rod pickup for it.thats a beautiful 57.............But mine is a 55 Chevy short bed stepside truck..........So far just finished a 10K body and paint job....Its ALL deep, deep black, replaced EVERY piece of glass in it with new PPG glass and weathstripping and chome grille, bumpers and door handles, new Oak bed kit I hand sanded and lacquered, and a 20 gallon stainless gas tank relocated under the bed.......Finishing up chassis work now....has a 69 camaro 12 bolt axle,373 gears and a Detroit locker and Iam welding in the front suspension which is a GM G body front frame clip, all disc brakes, power steering e.t.c.....THEN start the engine phase........a 383 stroker Iam building from a 98 Vortec block, which will be a 383 Full Roller motor........I PROMISE to post pictures when its all done guys.....Promise........
OHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhh man I will take that 392 HEMI brother...LOL...I been looking for one of those forever.....That would be an awesome power plant to drop into something.......Now I really want to see... 47-57 Chevy pickups are my favorite. And I got it for free to boot. Guy at work bought it 35 years ago with plans of building a slingshot drag car that never happened. He had it taken apart, cleaned and it sat in his basement oiled up the whole time. He knew I was into cars and at the time I had a 68 Satellite that I built a 440 to drop in and he told me I could have it as long as I put it to use someday. Right now its just a block, crank, and heads, so it will be a costly build once the time comes, but nothing like an old 392 Hemi built up. Someday!!!!!OHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhh man I will take that 392 HEMI brother...LOL...I been looking for one of those forever.....That would be an awesome power plant to drop into something.......
C'mon, no question there, no replacement for displacement. Unless your trying to make a lighter weight build to go though the twisties, but doubt that with a pickup. I had a fully worked 360 in my 72 Duster that was fun as hell but couldn't compare to the 440 I built for my 68 Satellite before that. I say, go big!!!!OK................Cant make up my mind as to what engine to build for my winter project.....55 Chevy short bed stepside truck...moving on to the engine build phase.......I want other hot-rodders and gear heads opinons............what should it be...a 383 Stroker Full Hydraulic roller Engine OR a 427 Big Block Chevy Rat Full Hydraulic Roller Engine..........Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh What a tough choice.....I'am leaning towards the 427........

Well, there are a ton of guys who would love to own a 55 shortbed pickup including me But, when I see an over built engine I turn the page or click on next. I'd want a truck I could drive everyday that's reliable and decent on gas. I'm not going to race it or tow it around on a trailer to show off. So if you build it with a big engine you limit your buyers and spend more money to do it. A nice 350 with a 650 dual jet and a mild cam, headers and dual exhaust would get me going.... A 427, not so much.... It's a truck..... If you want to make it show you need BIG $$ and have a lot of competition and very few buyers. When you decide to sell it (and you will my friend) you will lose your ass. Build it for the average Joe and you will always have a buyer and a profit.... just my humble opinion....OK................Cant make up my mind as to what engine to build for my winter project.....55 Chevy short bed stepside truck...moving on to the engine build phase.......I want other hot-rodders and gear heads opinons............what should it be...a 383 Stroker Full Hydraulic roller Engine OR a 427 Big Block Chevy Rat Full Hydraulic Roller Engine..........Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh What a tough choice.....I'am leaning towards the 427........
