Well that didn't last long

Well by the time I got a ride home and picked up my trailer and back/loaded etc; it was too late to drop off at the dealer.

So I went ahead and took it apart and found the clutch cage nut about fell out in my hand (still threaded but no tools necessary). You guys were correct on that of course - good call and thank you for the tip.:cheers:

I went ahead and cleaned it up, red lock tight and 100 lb ft torque. Still putting it back together but sure seems like this will get me back on the road. If any of you guys know the torque spec for the 4 smaller bolts on the outside of the cage (dunno what there called), please let me know if you can easily in the next few minutes...:job:

Else, I'm gonna guess around 25-35 lb ft. {nm, 24 felt about right}

Thanks again for the help guys...:up:

Funny you mention this; I just changed the trans fluid this past w/e and noted hardly anything came out. I had refilled with syn. I'll keep an eye on it but do you suspect my seal is also shot as I've read elsewhere?

Damn, well I had unknown noise last week (primarily cruising in 5th) to the point I knew something was going wrong. So this past w/e I changed primary & trans fluid and adjusted the chain and clutch. Noise went away so I thought I was good until today it just went downhill quick. I'm thinking I was running it damn near dry for awhile. Hard to say how long exactly but I had it in for my 2500 mile service about 2k miles ago (cpl months). Noise was maybe 3 days before I got to looking into it I guess. Hopefully it grenades under warranty if its going to.:eek:
