Welding on a case

I found a good deal on an S&S motor that has a broken front foot. (Left front motor mount) If I tig weld the foot in short burst (10 seconds or so) and let cool, would I be taking a chance on overheating any internal parts/seals?? Also, motor is fully assembled less the oil.

IMO,you shouldn't have any issues.
I would V-out,pre-heat the area,and weld away.:up:I would NOT use short welds,as this is a stressed area.
I've never had issues doing this.
