So I'm out for a quick ride before the storm hits. Rolling 70-75, and I hear and feel this "thunk". Pull over cause I know I didn't hit anything in the road. Look the bike over and finally locate the problem. The lower front screw that holds the caliper bracket to the lower fork had worked loose and the rotor removed it for me.
Gouged a nice big chunk out of the bracket and dinged up the rotor a bit. Got lucky that the threads weren't damaged. Replaced the screw with red Loctite and rolling again. Be sure to check your bike on a regular basis. I thought I was looking it over fairly well, but apparently not!
Stay safe out there! :2thumbs:
