I need the plastic for a 10 inch windshield. I just bought it from ShovelHead a couple months ago. Its an 03 BD Chopper
Bird strike broke it on the left (bad brake). I can not get them to reply about it. I'm not looking
for anything "free" but I am not paying $300 for a piece of plastic.
PREFER a new piece at a reasonable price.

Text or Call 931-260-7110

Thanks
Ron

Find a plastic dealer and pick up a sheet of Lexan polycarbonate. that stuff is almost unbreakable. Shouldn't cost more than 10 or 12 dollars for enough to cut out a new windshield.

I actually think the windshield is the more expensive part those brackets ain't worth shit.

Sorry kinda bad luck but it's better than the bird hitting you in the face. I caught a bird nicked my damn ear at 70mph fuck that hurt like hell my ear was swollen for 2 days

Do you have a deductible on you comprehensive insurance, providing you have full coverage. It was an act of God, same as hitting a deer, maybe insurance will cover it

I live in "ReDnEcKvIlLe USA, things don't exist here, you are just here. I thought Lexan was tougher then that.
I have no problems with the brackets they are fine. The strike was about 70 - 75 and caught right at the left
bracket there the screws are and the break went down at a slight angle inward. I have zero deductable on insurance
I would rather buy then have a claim. I have never had an insurance claim on anything. I will check on Windvest and see
what they have to say. I've e-mails where I bought it and they will not respond. I look at it as money is money, a sale
is a sale. Like I'm not looking for "free" anything but I want what I want. FORGOT to mention it is tinted.
I guess time will be making the decision.

Comprehensive claim does not go against your record

The thickness should be 3/16" and I believe its plexiglass, if it was lexan it wouldn't have broke, but lexan has memory and would be hard to keep the curve with the mounting that's there.
I think your going to have to bit the bullet

Wonder if you can bend plexiglass with a little heat?? If so, I have some 1/4"
Yes, using a heat gun and bringing it up to temp slowly,:old2: you need more than a hair dryer can put out. You could just roll the old one over the flat sheet of plexiglass for your flat pattern and make a curved template out of wood with some over bend to mold it to.
