What changes have to be done to go to the S&S .600 cam in a 03 BD Chopper with a 107 Super Sidewinder and Super Stock heads. I have no idea what cam in in there now.

suggestions excepted with all due respect

if i remember right, the 107 may have come with a 600. might want to check to see what you already have. if not, probably an upgrade in springs, maybe a valve job, and, if it doesn't already have, some roller rockers. the '03 107 is a hot rod motor.

It does have the S&S push rods and roller rockers those I v'e seen.
Thunder heart doesn't make anything for the 03's and back I assume.
I'm also looking at a Dyna Tech single fire ignition also.

Get the numbers off of you're engine and call S&S. If no one has changed it they can tell you what is in it. Let us know what you find out.

OK for today I pulled the rocker cover and am trying to measure the valve lift, this ain't easy since the lifters
are trying to bleed down. I keep getting a .350 at the push rod side, for an 03 Chopper this does not seem right. That's a .569 lift cam.

NOW for the major question... DO I have to change valve springs to go to the .600 cam??

I called S&S again and for the 3rd time I was told this engine was sold to BD UNASSEMBLED ie: PARTIAL
S&S also told me the heads would go to a .650 lift cam with no problems These are the "Super Stock" heads.

NOW I am really wondering, scratching my head and my ass as to what fits what from BDM and S&S.

Hmm I have a 2005 model Ridgeback with a 117 CI motor and my cam is a 569 cam. As for your question, if you put in a 600 cam you'll be ok with those springs, you have the red springs which is good... :old2:

red line bee hive springs, 600 good to go. would probably handle up to a 640, but i think i would stop at 600 and have some shaving done to increase compression to 10.5 to 1. should still be able to run pump gas with no problem.
