Hopefully my K-9 will be here from Strokers next week. I'm getting so excited as the time draws closer. I love my Honda Fury and ride it several times a day and as I ride it, I just imagine the fun that the K-9 will be when it finally arrives. I know some people do not like the Fury, but I got to be honest, its really a fun neat little bike. If anything, the Fury actually pointed me in the direction to eventually buy a K-9. I am very glad however that I did not invest any money into my Fury for mods such as new pipes, power commander etc...Just wanted to share my thoughts here.

nice, enjoy it. im waiting on my BD K9 too
at least you have one.....lol. im ready to buy, but havnt found the right one at the right price yet. the fury is a nice bike too, but it just seriously lacks the power and torque i crave.

You could have taken vacation fly to Dallas and ride it back....:cheers:

The fury with it's VTX 1300 seems to have a fair amount of power and torque, at least to me anyways. I know people are probably laughing at what I just said but hey its cool. Its hard for me to make a comparison as I've never ridden a Big Dog with the larger engine but I'm sure the there is a lot more muscle and torque. Cant wait to find out.

Give me a shout when you get it and I'll meet you and go for a ride. We can see if BigDogjohnny and biddogtech1 will join in as well.

I hope Strokers is enclosing a few rocks with your new K9...........because you're gonna want something to throw at the Fury after you ride your new bike. :whoop:

Yeah there was some dude on this site that dumped like 11K in modifications into a Fury, only to sell it for less than he paid for the bike when it was stock. :loony:

You are going to love your K-9 Chris, post some pics and your first impressions after you get it.

Thanks for the web links ADRENALINE RUSH. It was interesting to read the K-9 vs Fury articles from the perspective of both the K-9 and Honda owners. Its seem to be a consensus among the Honda owners that riding the K-9 is a near brutal assault on the body and that after a very short amount of riding time, it was said that your hands and arms wont stop vibrating. One Honda owner mentioned that sometimes when you accelerate the K-9, your feet feel like there going to be shaken off the foot controls. I'm sure all of that is somewhat exaggerated. I'm 6'0" and 230 pounds. I'm hoping I'll survive it. The only real concern I have on driving the K-9 is the steering due to the 300mm tire and length of bike (The K-9 is about 13 inches longer than the fury from end to end). Naturally I'll be taking it very to slow to become familiar with it

be aware of the difference in the bikes but don't let that scare you. relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy. it won't take long to get used to it.

i dont think it will be that bad, although i havent rode one yet either...lol. it was worrying me a little too since im only 5'8" and 155lbs. over the past 10 years ive owned about 15 sportbikes (600's & 1000's) and supermoto's. plus ive ridden a few harleys and other bikes, but never a true chopper. im ready to add a cruiser to the stable, and know what i want and like in a bike. i looked at a lot of different bikes like these and the K9 pulled me in every time i saw or sat on one!

im just having trouble finding the right one at the right price, there’s a dealer about 2 hours away that has a nice 07 K9 with less than 2500 miles, but the lowest there willing to go is $19,245 “out the door” :bang: but that seems really high to me when theres private sale 06's going for 14-15k and 07's for 15k-16k (and that’s before any negotiation and theres not nearly as much taxes or fees that way)..... I know theres killer deals out there if I wait it out since it’s the end of the season, horrible economy, and people who “need” to sell.

Enough on the fury already! please dont bring that up in the same sentence as a "big Dog"

the K9 has "about" .5 times more torque (50% more), and 2 times more HP (200% more) to the rear wheel than the fury has.

heres a good look at what both sides are saying about the 2.

and to be fair... heres what the other side thinks....lol

And is there a percentage factor figured in onthe "Cool Factor" ,,, or is that even possible!!!

You will love it,, tottally different beast,,,, and as the lady that works at the shop close to us told me when I told her everyone wants me to trade mine Ridgeback in for a more cushy scooter,, "Once you have gone radical nothing else even seems to matter"!

Mine is referred to as the "Scooter" with the small engine, keeps me humble..

We rode about 300 miles last Saturday no problem.

Enjoy your new ride,

Ray

hey chris 1969,

I wont bash hondas cause i just sold my first bike a honda vtx 1300. But i will tell you this, the first time you take your new big dog out and open it up you will feel a rush like nothing a honda can ever give you. I know you probably got questions at gas stations about your fury, but standby for an almost endless assault of onlookers and admirers

Bull crap, what sissies. I ride my bike for hours and I have none of those effects. Don't listen to that garbage Chris. That is just envious little dicks who are trying to compare their whimpy little bikes to the real deal. You'll see. And naw man there is no control or steering issues with the 300 tire. Slow speed turns require a little more real estate but they ride and steer great. You'll take to your new K-9 like a hog to mud buddy.

FYI, If your Big Dog vibrates excessively (i.e. Brutal assault on the body), then something is wrong and should be fixed. Does it vibrate more than my 3 Modern Day Triumphs? The Answer would be Yes. Does it vibrate more than my 1968 BSA? The answer would be no. I rode two Demo Big Dogs that vibrated more than my 2008 Ridgeback. Something had to be wrong with them (i.e. needed to be torqued) and the dealer was not very knowledgeable. Hope this helps and doesn't make it more complicated than it needs to be.

I am quite sure a Honda Fury would be a smooth ride. Honda was smooth back in the 70's.
