Rod Mod

Hey bpernie i forgot to ask you if you had to alter your clutch rod for the belt drive? I remember altering mine by a 1".... Just wondered if they made that a part of the kit yet?

Hey Showtime, I wll be ordering my 4" with bearing support and the piranha 26 plate clutch newx week, I spoketo Jim yesterday and he told me rod mod is still needed

How did you do yours, you could help us both here!

Jim Longo says it needs to be 1" longer, we will get it done!

I just bought one as well.....mine has to be sent out for polish then its being shipped down....

I bought the 4 inch with OBS.....curious on the rod length comment.....anyone provide details would be greatly appreciated.

yes it needs to be 1" longer and what i did was my dealer had a extra rod out of a old trans and gave it to me... I made the cut close to the end with a extra 1" and layed the 2 pieces into the inside angle of a piece of angle iron and welded.... came out nice and straight after grinding off welds to fit into the trans....Im sure not all of you will get another shaft to cut and keep the tapered end so will need to just make the cut and weld in 1"piece of round stock..Im sure you can get the same size rod at your local hardware store.... The Pirana Jr clutch does not need this altering but when you go big we always need to make it work.... :bang: Its worth it on this upgrade for sure!!!! I hope this helps ya out...
