This tip may help someone.
I had an issue a few years ago where after riding for a couple hours the battery went dead and after shutting off engine it would not start. Lucky for me we were on our way to an event in Oregon and riding with a bud so we swapped batteries at every stop. Quite the hassle as all my camping gear had to be removed to take two up seat off to access the battery. Looked over as much as possible but never found the culprit, so enjoyed the weekend. And we did the battery swap thing all the way home. Thought maybe a wire under the tank was the issue, found nothing. Read everything on this site and looked at a lot of possibilities and it was never one of those, the battery tested fine.
Contacted Curtis at Wild Steed, he suggested checking the stator connection, and ended up buying his VOLTAGE REGULATOR PLUG RETAINER
No issues since and I still have the original EHC.
