Ok so what year does everyone consider a bigdog old enough to be called vintage? Since the 1st dog rolled off the line in '94 would you say dogs in that first 10 years (to 2004) are vintage?
Lets hear some debate on this

Kman, maybe we should have everyone show what the bike looked like when we bought it and the 2nd picture shows the changes to the bike?

I agree

107ci is vintage, 117", 121", 111" is not.

Or not:D
when it comes to technicals the big dogs should be divided by a significant change in propulsion. I dislike the term vintage as I am not an antique dealer and mine is new to me and "just to loud" for some of my friends. I do however see the need to segregate for assistance as some fixs don't work on newer or older bikes.

A vintage is like a shovelhead. It pisses everywhere it stops, kinda like an old man. I would have to say no BigDog is vintage.

I kinda feel when they built them out of the garage in the beginning, those would be the vintage big dog bikes to me....
When they moved to the new site in 2000 they became a production built bike along with all the proprietorial crap. Hopefully they will move back to their roots now and build them like in the good ole days....
Love my 07 Bulldog but wish it was more parts friendly like in the beginning..

It was 1994 when the first Big Dog motorcycle rolled out of a Midwestern residential garage. The Bike, with the looks of a nostalgic cruiser, ran like a Big Dog, fast and strong. Styled like no other, it performed like no other. The Big Dog reputation grew slowly, mostly by word-of-mouth from one loyal customer to the next. Each year, sales accelerated. At first, their 100th bike seemed like a great accomplishment. A few years later, they were ecstatic when they built number 1,000.

A Question Of Vintage

Considering the unfortunate developments of the last day of March I feel that debating the issue of when to call our Big Dogs "vintage" is not such a pressing issue at this time. The fact that BDM has gone into recievership for debt reduction/settlement lays heavy on my thoughts as I would think is true of most BDM owners/fans. These changes are truely disturbing to those who have recently purchased a motorcycle from a Big Dog Dealer and are in fact having the warranty "in the air" as to whether claims, if any, shall be honored or will be dis-allowed by the recieving bank.
I am in a rather melancholy mood and I hope there are brighter days for us Big Dog riders in the future. As many here on The Forum state it possibly could cause our chops to gain in value and become collector models. I have always considered my K9 to be a collector; I don`t know about anyone else. I don`t see any need to be trading my K9 off for any reason whatsoever come hell or high water.
I wish all the best to Sherman and the employees of BDM. You will be missed.
