I've just been on a hundred mile ride on my Ridgeback. I've come back and still feel the shaking. Did a search and couldn't find anything about riders experiencing this much continued vibration from my fingers to my toes. Reminds me of my old shovelhead. Is this normal?:2thumbs:

Check to make sure your motor mounts are tight. Sometimes the bolt at the coil underneath the gas tank loosens off.

LOL, my K9 can vibrate pretty good. After a really long ride it can make my feet and hands go a lil numb if I don't move them for a long time. I just focus on repositioning whenever possible.

When I was at Sturgis this past year, my bike vibrated so bad, that between Rapid City and Sturgis I lost the top motor mount bolt. I realized that it was running rich big time cause my plug were wet and as dark black as a well digger ass. I leaned her out and went back to Rapid city found a 1/2 bolt that I could use temporarily. I was scared to go on that luncheon run the following day. I took a chance and all went well after I leaned her out and changed plugs. It kept on giving me trouble after I got back from Sturgis and again it was a rich condition. I found out that the velocity stacks I was running with the PSI Carb was not the right application for that Carb or at least that is what I was told. So check and make sure you are not running to rich, which will cause you to bog down and cause it to vibrate more than the usual we get from these monsters. I bought a XXX TAZ carb with dual Thunder jets and that was the ticket I need for the velocity stacks. DOG is real happy now and so am I :D.

I love all the excuses... Face it, it is a 117" big twin, solid mounted, with NO rear suspension...

What did you expect it to ride like?... a Honda Fury?

They vibrate, and even more if you cruise at or above 3000 RPM.

I’ve just got this ridgeback, took it out on a run & like you said at hi speeds the vibrations or strong. I was just checking to make sure that was normal. If you was to ride at speeds under 70 it would not be that bad

Marc, what pegs and grips does it have on it? I've done many cross country trips with my bike and even though it's a softail it still runs you ragged. First day after 12 hours on the bike your hand and feet go numb, second day you loose the feeling, third day I can't even sign a credit card reciept.
I put some of those custom pegs and grips on mine and the vibration was just too much so went back to stock as they absorb much more of this. Kuryakyn makes some great shock absorbing pegs and that's what I've been running with.
But that's the nature of the beast and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Still check out your motor mounts all around. I found a few loose bolts unter the frame and had my top motor mount fall out. A ridge will vibrate but you will notice a differnce in the ride if the bolts are loose or gone. Check them often and ride safe. :D  :flag:
